Of course some Georgia people stay on SSI and Jekyl etc. But many many more Georgia people stay in Florida instead.

While exactly ZERO Florida people stay in Georgia unless they got severely lost.

Seriously. Let’s stop calling it a neutral site. Makes us look like delusional cucks.

Biggest problem is Jacksonville has back slid as a city and may lose the Jags.

You could rotate with the Benz but at that point, might as well go on campus.

yeah atlanta should never ever host the game, it would be sacrilige. If it does sadly ever leave jacksonville home/home is the only other answer. HAving it at a neutral site besides jax "just because" doens't make any sense.

This is what I had read. 250k each. That's nothing. Although I wonder how much CBS values this game since they televise it every year? If it just became another SEC game, would they occasionally skip it?

Personally, I'm on the fence. 20, hell 40 years ago... I have fond memories of staying on SSI and partying.

Today, I don't drive after the sun goes down.

While I favor keeping the game in Jax it's still only a 45 min ride from the UF campus

You've gotta be hauling some serious arse to get from Jacksonville to Gainesville in 45 minutes

Anyone who suggests Atlanta is nuts if you think Atlanta will have the same extremely relaxed drinking laws on game week as Jacksonville does.

Some here will take some moral high ground but that absolutely matters.

ETA: Jax will move heaven and earth to keep the game here. In Atlanta, it would just be another event weekend.

Correct but still only a little over an hour with no stops and I'm assuming a police escort.

I thought we already decided to build a new stadium on the state line, with the boundary line going down the middle. What happened with that? Too much red tape with the gopher tortoise habitat?

I debated with my friends. I say keep it in JAX. The tradition is great and I love going to the game. I loved going to the game in college, it's several of my fondest memories. I think if we lose that game in JAX it will be a detriment to the series for both sides. Sure, a home and home would be enjoyable. I conceded to my friends that it wouldn't end my world if we found way to compromise and rotate with H&H then JAX but I can't see JAX wanting that (although I could see them ultimately capitulating to get any revenue if both schools are adamant on it).

I am with WG on what I have seen him post. Could it help recruiting? Sure. I don't think we lose on recruits to Clemson, Bama, or Ohio State because of that one less game. But I also back Kirby as this is his machine to run. I just hate to lose this game.

I say home and home.

Kirby hates the Gators. I believe that I get his logic. Home and home would enable Dawg recruits in Athens the pleasure of seeing Gators destroyed and would force Gator recruits in Gainsville to experience Gator tears in person.

Win win--Kirby has no plans to lose to Mullen.

Pretty good write up from GTP here: LINK

I definitely could see Kirby helping the university leveraging this current situation to get more money out of Jax, while in the meantime holding the university's feet to the fire to get rid of the self imposed no recruiting visitors rules...

Other than the Washington Generals - and maybe the French army - no one "plans to lose".

Stopped reading once I saw Mike Bianchi's name...a complete tool who tries to politicize almost every subject he writes about.

Yeah, skip the Bianchi piece, move past it... the rest is of interest.

It'd be a tragedy if the game was moved out of Jax.

While some of you have your various reasons for moving the game.

You can’t get tickets to JAX or you don’t like making the drive or spending the money for the trip or you have some inconceivable idea that the game is not neutral, which it is. At least as neutral as can be.

Split crowd in stadium, 90 min bus ride vs 90 min flight ( which JAX reimburses for ). Doesn’t matter if their fans live closer the game is still split 50/50.

Some have said you’d like Athens to get the revenue, well while Athens doesn’t, Coastal Georgia I s a huge financial weekend and would extremely hurt business in that area of the game moved. So you aren’t hurting Florida economy you are killing SSI and Jekyll’s.

But mainly I think the CKS doesn’t care where the game is played as long as the recruiting can be worked out. If they could figure out how to host in Jax, he’d have no problem leaving it there..., considering the programs makes more MONEY being in Jax.

I don't think he wants to recruit in jax. Who would take their family on an official visit to Jax and never see the campus, dorms, food halls, and night life.

And who entertains the kids as they do nothing at the stadium? Kirby has to get ready for the game. It is a business trip. Fly in. Win. Go home.

There is only 1 downside to the Florida weekend in Jax. Some kids are busy and that weekend might be the only one available for an official during the football season. That is what irks kirby. A high profile recruit where the dates just aren't lining up.

Those are good points... you’d just think... that for 1 high profile recruit they could VIP somehow.
