I can think of some quiet lead by example types but who do you think the active leaders will be?

Based on reading this board it seems it will be an ACC transfer QB.

Read yesterday that Quincey Mauger is that guy for us in the defensive backfield. Busts his tail in practice, is a vocal leader but also leads by example. For a guy who many considered a cootieship, he's been a good safety for us.

Jordan Jenkins is our leader at linebacker, from what I've heard.

Offensively, Mitchell and Theus both seem to have stepped into leadership roles.

I definitly thought that. I just don't picture him being very vocal.

Not surprised by Mauger or Mitchell.

Theus? I'd have thought Pyke even than theus. Theus to me seems to have too much surfer dude in him.

A lot of guys I played with, myself included, were very easy going and had very relaxed personalities but the minute the pads were strapped on, that switch flipped and they became mean sons of bitches. Theus apparently shows a pretty nasty side in practice and anytime you're a 4 year starter at OT in this league, people are going to pay mother fricking attention to what you say and do.

I think one of the biggest mistakes people make in assumptions is that in order to be an effective leader, one needs to be vocal. If that were the case then Shaq Wiggins would be President of the United States one day. I can guarantee that Chubb is a leader in the locker room, but he isn't a loud, talkative guy.

Kolton Houston was protecting David Greene's blindside it seems like so I'd hope he'd be a leader by now

Sounds like Dominick Sanders is assuming leadership responsibilities as well. That's huge for a true soph

These are the best kind of Leaders imo.

Ray Lewis fake juice wannabes are usually only Leaders in the eye of the media. His teammates all laugh behind his back and hate his guts..

Toward the end of his career when Ray Lewis would do the crying/convulsing histrionics when the camera would zoom toward him during the national anthem I actually thought he might be an Andy Kaufman style satirical performance artist.

He was a satire of a satire of a guy playing Ray Lewis in a terrible sports movie. There is no way his teammates didn't mock him mercilessly behind his back.

Maybe you should pay attention.

He is THE leader on defense.

I agree.

I think it really depends on the circumstances. If you're around an experienced group who already know what they're doing, than yes, quiet is best. But if you're dealing with an inexperienced group, you need someone who isn't going to shout and scream but someone who takes it upon themselves to teach them the right way to do something.

I hear good things on Tim Kimbrough wanting to be a leader. I heard he is very vocal at ILB.
