I have no idea who they go after. They don't have the money to get a big name.

No one. He’s staying. They don’t care about football.

There are three that I talk to relatively often.

Their tone has changed recently.

And Stansbury, like most AD's who didn't hire the incumbent coach, would probably like to put his stamp on GT history by firing a failing coach and putting his own guy in there.

If Tech loses 3 in a row to end the year, he might be gone.

If I were Stansbury, I'd call Kiffin just to kick the tires. If he's looking to put his stamp on the program and change the culture, what better way?

when PJ is fired tech isnt' getting a "name" coach like kiffin or freeze simply due to the rebuild. Whatever coach comes in is going to have at least 2 maybe 3 years of complete garbage on his hands having to turnover the roster they inherit that is built for the TO. No "name" coach with a decent resume is gonna sign up for htat, they're gonna have to get a young up and comer at a small school wanting to make a name for himself.

Like who?

The new UCF coach kept that train a'rollin after Frost left.

What if AU actually fires Gus.... he doesnt have to worry about money, would he consider it?

That is a big IF.
Tech's offense has been better with that freshman QB.

They have started to put points on the board with him under center and they are starting to beat teams with a pulse.

I wouldn't be shocked if they finish the season 1-1 and win their bowl game to finish the year 5-1 in their last 6.

Rich Kotite. He's tanned, rested, and ready, and he isn't a big name.

Remind me who Kotite is again? It has been a long day at the office.

i dont think that will keep someone from coming. tbh it is a pretty desirable job.

fertile recruiting
weak division in a big name conference
big city/market

Plus the triple option gives the new coach 2-3 years of zero expectations to get his system in place.

If Tech committed to paying someone slightly above average they could get a bigger name imo.

Would love to see that gimmick bullshite get dropped and see them play real football again. Their offense is as annoying as their troll attempt billboard they put up next to ga state stadium. It annoys me to see it every day.

The weird thing is that his buyout is only $2,000,000 ttl. after the season ends for '19 & 20 and from reading over on stingtalk they don't have the the money to buy him out and pay someone e else and his staff...

Plus he's getting more peeps back on the bus after their recent successes.

Coached the Jets to a 4-28 record; did somewhat better with the Iggles before that.

Freshwater is holding out for a much better job than Lville.

He's got a good thing going where he's at.

Lville fired Petrino fast to get in line early for the annual coaching carousel.

Probably a clause in his contract that if he takes another immediate job, it lessens the buyout. I don’t think AU can afford to fire him right now. They’ve canceled some construction projects due to his raise. AU’s in a mess of their own making, and I hate it for them.

Wouldn't be a bad option for GT imo. The personnel transition would be quite as much of a handicap. OL would still be a huge problem though.
