Every receiver has the potential to contribute right away in Monken’s system.

Jones and Ratledge are likely going to play early, even if they don’t start.

Jalen Carter will play on the DL this year

-I expect Milton to get some carries.
-Darnell Washington will play a LOT.
-Ratledge I expect to get some snaps; Jones has more upside but is also more raw. He'll get some PT, but I don't expect him to come in Like Andrew Thomas did. Then again, he could pick things up really well in the summer and shock me.
-I agree with Tyler that every WR is in play to get PT if they put in the work.

-Carter will be a rotation guy.
-Ringo is too talented to keep off the field.
-I want to say Sherman, but we are just SO damn deep at LB right now.

Thinnest position rooms are tight end, LG (assuming Salyer is a tackle and assuming there is not a change at C to roll Hill out some), slot receiver, RB, and S.

I think it's easily Milton if you're considering the full season. Not only is he on campus now, but he also brings a dimension at TB that the team could use.

Having said that, even though EE's contribute so much more early, I'm looking for Washington and at least one of the receivers to start impacting games before Bama because the staff will make it a priority.

The position is deep and he isn't an EE. If 4-6 games in is immediately then I say it's definitely possible.

Still see Milton's size, ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, and the fact that he's on campus now getting a pretty big head start on other recruits as the factors that make him the favorite.

I *think* Webb has said he wants to play Guard? Maybe have that backwards, but SVP seemed to indicate he actively wants to play C... Either way, I like the talent we're stacking on the OL... should make it pretty easy to piece together the puzzle inside the confines of whatever system Monken wants to operate.

I dont have any insider knowledge.

Webb's size appears to be a C.
6'3" 290 pounds per the UGA website.

He came in and said he would help anywhere (knowing that Hill was a sophomore in 2019).

It will be interesting to see how 2020 plays out.

Freshman center contributing early in the season? I know SVP is a smart kid, but isn't this asking a lot?

Both of these kids already have the size and athleticism to contribute. Carter will see more PT early because DL is see ball - get ball, but Ringo will be the best in class by end of the season.

The progress of Rosemy and Burton will be key to beating Bama week 3. If they can pick it up quickly those two are the sleepers.

My comment had nothing to do with immediate contributions, just an aside on Webb's previous commentary on the subject of positions. meansonny is correct though, in that I recall him walking his original comments on G vs C back a bit, saying he just wanted to be able to contribute.

Washington will rotate in because Tre' McKitty is more than ready right now. I don't think that kid gets enough credit for his physicality and run after catch ability. We'll probably see both of them on the field a fair amount.

Unless McConkey shocks the world with his ability he will not be the new Dom Blaylock while we have a plug and play kid like Burton on the roster.

McKitty will start over Washington. I don't think any freshman will start right away and that is a good thing.

Jones and Ratledge have the best chance to start right away. That doesnt mean it will be easy. But they are going against Truss, McClendon, Salyer, and Cleveland. That is probably a better opening than against any other position on the team.

Tre' McKitty has 9 starts from 2019. That is similar to Eli Wolf at Tennessee (8 starts in 2018).
It is going to be tough for a true freshman to beat out someone with that much physical and mental maturity at the position.

Technically, there can be 4 starters at CB, nickel, and Dime. But we are stacked. Stokes, Daniel, Campbell, and Stevenson are going to be extremely tough to knock back/off. Webb is a 4th yr guy and Wilson is a 3rd year guy. They may be the most vulnerable, but they both have a ton of experience.

All of the above is about named starters and rotation guys at DB.

If I am thinking of snaps, I still see Washington, Milton, and the receivers in the mix to get important reps early. Between rotation and specialization, they will be potentially used often.

I'll say Burton, maybe Robinson since he's an early enrollee. Probably an OL, but not sure which one, maybe Ratledge. I don't think Washington or Ringo will be big contributors early on. Could be wrong about Ringo, but I think he'll need a bit of coaching up and we have decent talent and experience at DB.
