I don’t get the feeling he wants to be back home. But what do I know.

No, but the rest of you did, which makes your whining about me funny.

He absolutely couldn’t of go to Miami. With the talent they are getting. Rozier is a Jr only has 1 year left. JE could sit next year and start for 2 at Miami.

You think Smart would let him go to Miami?

I thought about calling him out for this same thing, but his post is so incoherent that I'm not entirely sure what he's trying to say. I assumed he was being sarcastic in some way.

Has it occurred to anyone that he could graduate with a degree and be eligible immediately.

It’s not extremely likely but he enrolled early and could transfer after the upcoming summer and get to a new school with a degree. That would make him eligible immediately.

Eason has a great arm.

But if he's truly gonna have a shot at the NFL he had better find a good QB coach and work his arse off. I dont see how a kid that was beaten out of his job by a freshman can improve enough to be this phenom everyone assumes he will be. He seemed a little too happy to be over there hanging out on the sidelines.

Eason seems like a good kid. His situation is really tough luck and he's handled it well. Also he got thrown to the wolves last year and was pretty tough on on O that gave him very little support.

Losing his job and having to sit a year and watch may be the best thing that ever happens to Eason. I think his biggest weakness was having never had significant competition and maybe a bit of laziness/complacency.

Part of the reason Fromm was able to win the job was his fire and commitment to learning the system. Maybe losing his job a sitting a year will light a fire under Eason. Long term careerwise all the talent he possesses won't be enough to make him great if he lacks the fire and commitment.

I Agree With DoubleDawg22,I think Eason has made Honor Role,or close. So he could very well get that Degree Early and play sooner than later wherever he may go.He's too talented to be Waxing Benches Though...

What he lacks is teachable. What he has is god given. He is literally the second coming of Matthew Stafford, who by the way was not a great college QB and is now the highest paid QB in the NFL. By the time Eason is a senior, NFL scouts will be wetting themselves over his ceiling.

Stafford played for three years. Eason is riding the pine. Big difference. I also don’t see him as the second coming of Stafford. You could always see it with Stafford, even when he was struggling.

you can see it with Eason, too. The only difference is Stafford wasn't benched his sophomore year and you actually got to see his improvement.

Eason had a better Freshman season than Stafford for fricks sake.

I wish he'd come back and fight for number one. We need a QB that can pass a little better than Fromm. Otherwise, Chaney needs to put FROMM's arm through its paces.

Fromm's passing stats are better than Eason's.

Yeah yeah yeah lots of variables.

I agree his stats are a lot better, but why are we not passing more? Doesn't it make sense to have a more balanced team? I like Fromm too, but I'm a little suspicious. Seriously, do you think its because its his first year?

I thought I heard earlier this year that Chaney was not afraid to open the play book for FROMM?

This is a bit of a crutch argument... the highest paid QB generally is the starter who signed the contract most recently in the NFL.

I get the point you're trying to make, but just didn't need this attached. Eason has quite a few things that he will need to work on... unfortunately our sample size this season has been so limited we don't really know what progress has been made.

Accuracy - in his freshman campaign, this was not a strength

Decision making - again, based on freshman season and limited snaps this season, he's slow to make a read and decide, ultimately putting more pressure on the OL to protect

Touch - On short/intermediate throws, how well is he able to dial in the right force on the throw... again, limited snaps this year have not shown a vast improvement here.

Some of those things are coachable, particularly decision making since it can be improved with better preparation, film study, reps, etc. Accuracy and Touch problems, while there is always room for improvement, can be found often to follow players throughout the course of their careers in some form or fashion.

I could see him sticking around if graduation is in the cards after next season, but I do believe the most likely scenario is transfer to get a redshirt season + 2 years starting if needed wherever he lands. As the previous poster mentioned, Washington seems a highly likely landing spot given that their QB spot is likely secured through 18 and then open, in addition to returning closer to home. No matter what happens, wish nothing but the best for the guy. He was the recipient of some bad timing here.
