Great drill video of spring training. Guys look like they are ready to get busy this September. They are hungry for the Natty.

Crazy, this time last year people were talking about how useless Herrien is. I hope he shows out this year.

I gave a lot of credit to Herrien last season when he played. He's a very good RB, IMO. And he proved it last season.

Herrien has really improved and I like the dude but we still don't know a lot about his potential. Would he be getting major carries at bama? I would venture to say almost surely not. Zamir's injury really stunk for depth so now we kinda have to play Herrien as our #2, or hell maybe even 1 if Swift's groin acts up.

I think Herrien up to this point has shown some good stuff especially late last season but him being our prime #2 RB is a bit worrisome to me.

Let's see how Cook has improved and Zeus has recovered before we worry about this.

I think Herrien will get the ball more this season than Cook. He has more experience and we wont see Zeus play until probably Fall. Thats when all 3 (Herrien, Cook and Zeus) will be going after the #2 spot (unless, like WG said, Swift gets hurt). I like Cook but watching him drop the ball a couple of times last year, makes me nervous but hopefully Kirby made him sleep with the damn thing.

Pull up some of the game threads. People love to dump on Herrien.

I don't know why considering the guy is successful whenever he's given the ball and runs like a madman. A very physical runner. He's not as talented as a Swift or Zeus or even Cook, but still a very good back.

I dont' think there's inherently anything "wrong" with herrien, it's just he's not waht you woudl typically consider at top 2 back at a program of our level and we espeically have been spoiled rotten in that regard the last several years.

Chubb/Sony
Chubb/Sony/Swift/Holyfield
Swift/Holyfield

We're a groin flareup away from Herrien being our starting RB (at the moment) which is just a bit of a deviation from the abundance of riches we've been accustomed to. But again...I like herrien and am excited to see him.

Herrien is a good RB and seems to be a good kid. The problem I had with him, and I think most people agree with me, is he is clearly not on the same level as Swift/Holyfield but found himself in there for a lot of important snaps. Herrien is hard to bring down when he has a head of steam, but he’s an upright runner with very little shiftiness. If it’s 3rd and 1 or 2 and we need to pickup the first, give me a guy like Holyfield who is strong enough to run through an arm tackle but also has the wiggle to pick his way through traffic and pick up an extra yard or two.

Pretty spot on. His vision/balance has been a concern. If we can create a straightline path for him or maybe a single *slight* cut, he's good... but otherwise, he has traditionally run into contact rather than trying to angle away from it. It's fine for plodding away for 2-3 yards on first down, but it's not going to hit you a lot of home runs, and it's going to leave you behind the chains more often than not.

Feel free to look back at my comments all the way back from when he was recruited. I was and still am excited about his potential... however... up to this point, while he's been a fine running back, as stated by a few above, he's certainly not performed at the same level as Gurley/Chubb/Swift or even Holyfield last year. I for one am hopeful that he's grown/developed this year, not only in his frame, but in his approach. I would LOVE to see that success story, from a kid who most didn't even thing would make it to the college level. But it's not without a certain degree of risk or worry to have him as our #2 back going into the year.

He’s done more with less than any RB we’ve had in awhile. I have a feeling he’s gonna have a banner year. He’s earned it.

Tough to imagine White will be back to form this year. He’ll contribute, but how much is anybody’s guess.

Big H. has always been serviceable. We've just been really spoiled at RB as of late.

I was really impressed with him in the Sugar Bowl. He seemed to be playing with more fire than the rest of the team put together.

There were more than a few games where Herrien was the only one who was able to successfully move the ball.

What does "if" major carries at Bama have to do with UGA? Our backfield has been equal if not better than Bama's for well over 3 years.

Dell knows Running Backs. I trust in his judgement.

FWIW:

Jaylen Johnson? (81) juking Campbell (3)

Divaad Wilson (8) sticking Tommy Bush (12)

Herrien (35) trucking Adam Anderson (19)

Tindall (41) tackling James Cook (4)

JR Reed (20) tackling Blount (14)

Nolan Smith (4) tackling someone? (39) at the end

I think he’s proven himself I mean it seemed like he was one of the few that showed up for the Texas game

Look, I love our guys and think he's a good kid but let's have some perspective here.

He's had some nice drives here and there but he's NOT a game breaker. Name one signature run where we needed a huge play and the kid iced a game for us?

He's got heart and I love him for that but if we're talking dudes that scare D-Coordinators, he's not one of them.

Let's all hope Zamir's gonna be healthy for fall.

Agree but disagree. Kid came through for us several times last year but he's not Swift. That said, he is still a decent RB.

But I am looking forward to seeing how far along Cook has come since last season. He's bulked up a little bit but hey, Sony was a little bit of a bean pole when he first started playing and he bulked up after about 2 years and look at the guy now. One of the best RBs in the country.
