BREAKING: #Alabama DC Tosh Lupoi is going to take a job on the Cleveland Browns staff, coaching the D-line, per source. Was a huge recruiting force the Tide as primary recruiter for Tua, Jonah Williams, Raekwon Davis, Najee Harris, Alex Leatherwood, Trevon Diggs & Dylan Moses.

Not too concerned, not sure Tosh was ready.

Agree. I was hoping he wasn't Kirby's choice.

Maybe not, but I'm not sure Dan Lanning is either. I hope I'm wrong if he is the choice. I still say Ansley is the most experienced and best choice, even though he hasn't been a D coordinator. It seems we're not even contacting him.

Now we see why Ansley hasn't been interviewed for our DC job. He will be the new DC at Bama.

Wow, NO ONE wants to work for Saban. This is huge for us considering Lupoi was an elite recruiter and we don't have to deal with him on the road anymore.

Or, Saban takes one of our coaches for a 200% raise

Is Saban so nasty that he would have to triple a salary?

Word from Bama fans here is Saban "suggested" he look for an opportunity elsewhere.

dude called a DL stunt from their 1 yard line, easiest TD clemson scored all year.

The guy is the elite of the elite at recruiting but clearly over his head as a DC, I'm very glad we didnt' go that route. At any rate I'm glad he's not at bama anymore.

It’s not that at all.

Dude wasn’t ready for the job. And by end of season, he’d already been stripped of a lot of his responsibilities, so this departure was definitely encouraged and planned for. Even down to Saban arranging his hiring with Cleveland. The idea being for him to gain experience sharpening his fundamentals , playcalling etc for a future role.

This is how diabolical “the process” is.

Also of note, is that Kirby really really really wanted Lupoi to replace Tucker.

My people are telling me Lapoi isn’t even the last of the departures. There will be at least one more coach, possibly two, announcing departures very soon..
