Snow and ice just missed North Alabama today. Temps didn't drop below freezing until after it all stopped. We got just a slight dusting of snow that melted almost as soon as it hit the ground.
Hope all are ok in Georgia.
Going down to 22 overnight.

I don't understand how people live up north.

I lived in Connecticut for almost 2 years back in the mid-1990s. First snow was before Thanksgiving. Next snow was a week later and didn't see grass until Good Friday. Every other residential street was designated a "No Parking" street and were plowed every night if it snowed. Half the winter it never got above 32. Couldn't find grits in any store so a friend sent me a bag every month.
My Sweetheart is from Maine and lived in Boston area for years until moving here with me. She loves the snow if we only have it once a year.

I'm originally from SOWEGA. Been up here 23 years. As hard as it is to believe, you get used to it.

I am in SOWEGA now. Morning low today was 28 degrees with a wind chill of 22 degrees. The sky is clear and sunny, but we are going to struggle to get out of the 40s today. Wind is still blowing and making it colder.

Yeah I feel as though I live in the great white north in winter.

Been in Nashville for 4 years now, and I hate the ice here. Its worse than anywhere else Ive encountered. Just had maybe a inch or two of snow this morning but the trek to the interstate was awful because of the ice on the roads. Definitely going to have to leave work early to make sure Im home before the sun goes down.

I will say the summers are much better here than in Georgia.

Ain't no question. Especially on the Fl/GA line, which is my home base of operations. I love being relatively close to the ocean...only about an hour away from the gulf...but Summer time is a nightmare down here with frequent thunderstorms that only serve to make the humidity much worse.

Summers are great here in North Alabama. Hasn't hit 100 for the last three years.
