Guess the article I read and posted was correct about him. Reading his resume, he seems to be a great recruiter. Thats now 2 coaches that have been picked away from FL. I think Saban took one of their coaches too.

So this is the kid that Warren recruited for the Lizards and because Warren is now a Dawg, Elam may follow him there? And am I correct that Saban snatched one of their coaches as well? If so, Mullen has a lot of work to do.

From what I’m reading, very solid hire.

I’ve been very critical during this coaching search, but am here to eat crow.

This is a great hire!

Seems like a good hire. I hope we didn't pick him over Ramyond if he had the choice. I also hope Smart didn't make this hire just because of Elam. You hire someone who can coach the position and recruit, which it seems he can.

I just hope he sticks around a while. His path to us has been all over the place. Maybe the Atl connection will keep him rooted.

Position coaches move year to year all the time.

He was at Tennessee in 2017. His head coach was fired and he had the opportunity to go to Florida for more money.

He is now leaving to come to UGA where he will likely double his salary, be closer to family, and have a much better group of players to coach.

How much was he making at UT? I read his salary was $200,000 at Florida, which is pretty low.
