I’m headed down to Nashville this year. Has anyone been to a game at Vanderbilt before? Will it look like a UGA home game?

Better already have a place booked where you want it.

Yes. And yes. Just be aware that the game tends to be the 11:00am local time game A LOT. Good news with that is the fun out in the city Saturday night

Thanks! Yeah, I’ve got plane tickets, game tickets and friends to stay with. I think we’re the night game on the SECN so that will be pretty cool.

It's already been announced as a night game..

Op yes it generally has as much red as blaxn and gold but with tickets being like $120ish face value this year and being the opener I suspect it may not be QUITE as bad as normal, well still be extremely well represented thiigh. And like the other poster said if you dont already have lodging you need to look asap. At this point air bnb is probably your best bet unlews you want to pay a small fortune or stay out of town

ETA: just see you already addressed all that. Carry on

I live in Nashville and have been to the last two games at Vandy, and yes, its a Georgia crowd. The stadium seats something like 35k, and there will be 20k that are Georgia fans.

Both years, I didnt buy tickets until I was outside of the stadium. Right after kickoff, Ive gotten them for around $40-50. It might be a little more this year, but not too much.

Vandy fans are great. Easy to tailgate with, and most of them stick to the two parking lots adjacent to the field, while Georgia tailgates are more spread out because there isnt a big amount of room around Vandy with it pushed up right against West End.

I always drive down and park adjecent to Centennial Park across the street. Its free, and you can always find something there, even if its street parking.

Getting in is easy, and its easy to get in alcohol. Im always in my jeans and boots, and I throw some Jack in my boots and just walk in.

I was there in ‘15 and it was at least 60% Georgia fans.

It was more than that around the city. On gameday, the town was 75% red.

You should enjoy yourself. Also, not a bad seat in that stadium.

7:30 eastern kickoff. It'll be a lot like a UGA home game but there will probably be more Vandy fans than usual since it is opening day.

Cool. I’m really excited to go. Thanks for all the advice. I can’t believe it only holds 40k. We’re sitting low in one of the endzones. For whatever reason I have a lot of Vandy friends so it should be fun.

We went in 2017. We staid in Murfreesboro on Friday and drove over Sat. Hotels are really expensive and if you are budgeting Murf. is a good option that's only 40 minutes from Nash. We did Airbnb Sat night. The tailgating experience is kind of weird and feels kind of like a Southern conference game. I thought the food was real good at the game. Vandy fans are real friendly and do not take football very seriously. There were some real jackass UGA fans taunting Vandy fans which was really the only negative I saw. Nashville is a lot of fun. Lot of good food & music.

We purchased three game packs from vanderbilt’s Ticket office. They’re smart and won’t let one purchase only Georgia or LSU tickets. They make u purchase tickets to three separate games, and quantities must be identical for the 3 games. One can purchase sideline tickets to UGA then end zone for Uk/mizzou. I ended up paying less than stubhub and have Vandy v mizzou and Etsu as well, probably cannot give them away

Nashville is about as good a 3 day weekend town as there is in the SE....lost of fun shite to do if you like music and food and beer is good and plentiful...even without a UGA game Nashville is a blast!

I didn't realize it was only 40k. The only time they come close to selling out is when we play up there. There is just very little interest in Vandy football compared to all the other SEC schools. Even Kentucky stepped up their game w/ their stadium improvements and coaching staff.
