Hard for DoT to get any sympathy for lagging on calculating the leaderboard. Especially with JD in the field.

Why would a top 10 in a blah pga Canadian event get you in The mf’n Open?

It’s part of the Open Championship Qualifying Series.
Top (non-qualified) finishers in something like 5-6 events across the World make the Open.

Guy from exact spot where Open is played....goes to Canada to qualify....because it’s “open qualifying.”
OK. Fine. But the logic and purpose of the whole idea for open qualifying is long gone in the modern day.

He was planning on playing in a specific qualifier, but was fortunate enough to qualify from that PGA Tour event.
It was weird to me (not as weird as some of the Asian Tour events that give spots) but I’m sure he’ll take it.
