Saw a thread started on Dawgs247 about who, if ADGM leaves, would be in line to take his place. Supposedly he has agreed to an extension but still hasn't decided to sign it, weighing retirement.

All they could come up with was Frank Ros as far as possibilities.

I would think Carla Williams would be a top choice.

Any ideas? Other names?

Put me down as a no thanks there. I'm excited to see that she's taken the next step and landed an AD position at UVA. But I'd like to see us think outside the "Georgia Way" approach. She's only been in that lead role for ~2 years at this point, which really isn't enough time to offer a good picture on whether she's got what it takes to lead from the top.

Not really sure who would be on the short list at this point, but would hope that she doesn't make it, even if she does get interviewed.

It’s going to be Josh Brooks. He will be a solid choice but not an overwhelming fan favorite.

Heard for years she was the one responsible for our harsh discipline policies and self immolation strategy we used when dealing with the NCAA. I’ll be a hard no on that one

From his UGA bio...

quote:

Brooks also served as director of football operations at the University of Louisiana-Monroe beginning in 2004. In 2007, ULM became bowl eligible for the first time in school history after beating Alabama.

This would make him popular.

No on Richt. He would put the brakes on Kirbys way of recruiting.

God I hope not, I want an attorney from the outside who has worked with the NCAA for years and understands The Box we are given and how to use it all.

No more legacy hires. No token hires. Get the best person available for the job period.

What "way" is that?

Our recruiting budget is 6X what it was when he was here.Dont see why he'd ever want to cut those funds or ever want to mess with what he's doing on the recruiting trail.

Not that I'd want CMR to be our next AD.

Most of the change in recruiting budget is aviation related, we got rid of the UGA plane and pilots and use charter services.

It's just not be accounted for as it once was.

It’s a long shot but I wish UGA could get Billy Payne to take it. Man get the Olympics to Atlanta and ran the hell out of Augusta National.

The AD job is not a job for Athletic Dept cronies nor ex-jocks. It is a job that requires experience at running an Athletic Dept at a major school and having done it successfully.

Given your criteria listed above, how would everyone feel about Joe Alleva? I think he's looking for a job right now.

Wouldn’t read too much into it, but a buddy of mine within the program has heard John Currie’s name brought up along with Brooks.

He also fricked the KState Equestrian team, something that would not be popular in Athens.
