Notable that not all schools and not all states disclose this information, and furthermore, not all schools handle the financial reporting in the same fashion.

Correct

quote:

Football recruiting data for Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Tennessee, Virginia and Virginia Tech is unavailable due to state records laws. Baylor, Boston College, Duke, Miami (FL), Northwestern, Notre Dame, Stanford, Syracuse, TCU, USC, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest are private institutions, which means they’re exempt from public records laws.

UT,Bama and AU can't be far behind or probably ahead of us in Bana's case.

Hard to say, really. I would imagine once you get rolling and have success the less you have to spend. However.....when you recruit nationally like Alabama and Georgia does, it gets more expensive.

It doesnt have an exact number for football spending for Alabama, but if you look at the SEC graph at the bottom, it reported that Alabama spent around 3.4 million on recruiting thoughout all sports, which is still less than Georgia.

I think this is proof that current football model is not sustainable. You can run the math different ways, but even adding preferred walk ons and Grad transfers, roughly 30 kids per year, you are looking at an average of $86,666.66 per player just to recruit them. I’m certain that does not include salaries, infrastructure improvements related to recruiting, and all the other costs associated with supporting the player once at the school. This is just a huge red flag for how valuable the players really are to the school and eventually will lead to some sort of pay for them or significant rules curtailing the arms race.

Win and it all pays for itself ... Playoffs and major bowls pay bank.

Just have to do it until we get over the hump ...

All those funds are split among SEC members.

Biggest payback comes from contributions when you win big.

I’m not questioning why UGA does it within the rules. I get that... i’m Simply stating that you can’t justify free college as the core of your Billion $$ industry when you start getting to the point where legal recruitment costs are higher than the scholarship package.
