Stolen from the rant, but this is pathetic that we are not even in the top 10 LINK

Umm we are 11. Also this is pretty subjective stuff.

It’s amazing we are in the top 30 with Adams and Dooley in our recent past.

The Top 5 or 6 on that list just left me jaw in a permanent state of drop. I can't wait to see how college football history looks back on this era of Facility Arms Races.

Is there really that much difference between number 11 and number 10? For that matter number 11 and number 5?

I read there was talk about either taking the Spec-Towns track site or the Hoke Smith Annex. Those are the only two spots you could build a standalone facility near the current facility, which they're supposed to be looking at. Both come with some issues.

After the top 4, its probably hard to rank the next 10 or so. Clemson, Oregon, Bama, and ATM are in a class by themselves at the moment.

To think we made a huge jump in 1987 moving locker rooms, weight, and training rooms out of the dungeon in the Coliseum and into the Butts Mehre. We were on par with most teams at that point after lagging behind. Then we kinda stayed stagnant. We upgraded the weight room in the mid 90s and did some minor stuff, but also lost McWhorter, which was a pretty awesome place looking back now. Stadium upgrades til recently helped the fans more than the players. I guess the big screen helped recruiting.

There is a deminishing return at some point UT, Clemson, Oregon, have gone crazy because they have to as a way to overcome from a recruiting standpoint

Well, assuming this list is even accurate, it doesn't seem to be affecting us in recruiting. We do need an upgrade though, especially in the weight room and player's lounge. Heck, if they're going to do it, go full bore and build the best standalone practice facility in the country. No more half-assed nonsense like that 20 yard long indoor turf area. Who thought that was a good idea?

What wrong with the current weight room? I think it is pretty awesome.

It's fine other than being one of the smallest in the conference. Even when we expanded it years ago, it was already too small. MSU, South Carolina, and Kentucky all have a larger weight room.

Gotta disagree.I think just about ALL the stadium upgrades have benefited players/recruits
Restrooms are still horrible and while concessions have improved we're still have close to the worst in the conference.
Fan experience inside Sanford is about as bad as it gets unless you're in club

I’m talking over the last 30 plus years.

Still been minimal at best.

Yeah, it's a perfectly nice facility. It's just very small compared to our main competitors.

Going by memory and I’m sure I’ll miss some stuff.

Seat backs in some areas
Further closing in around Tate center
Locker room upgrade
2000s

More luxury boxes

Most recent expansion
By for fans, I mean first and foremost more seats. The big screen is good for recruiting, but also for the fans. (Remember when they used to announce the scores of other games before smart phones and video monitors?)
For the average fan, the experience is not as good as it was in the 80s other than optional seat backs, the video screen and more seats...
The down side is all the choke points and walking you have to do. The suites are nice, but take away from the game experience.
