Tae Crowder has really come on this year. He always seems to be around the ball and in the right place. Offense is still pretty conservative, really wish they would let from throw down field more. Carmada doesn't have it and needs to be replaced. What are yalls thoughts?

WR patterns are getting better and the defensive front seven are containing the QB fairly well. DBs are still playing a little loose and giving up short passes.
I know the DC (Kirby?) aren't going for sacks but we need to start getting to the QB in passing situations. We soon will be facing some really good QBs and that worries me.
Run defense is very good and we are forcing teams to pass the ball so QB pressure is essential.

I was actually pleased with how well the offense moved the ball. The main disappointment for me, much like the Notre Dame game and even Vandy, was having to settle for fields goals when we were in striking range.
Defense looked lost and unprepared on Tennessee's two scoring drives and then played well the rest of the game. I don't think this defense has a superstar player like Roquan or Baker right now, but it has several guys playing with consistency.
Some players on the team still aren't playing with discipline, but that was a terribly officiated game overall. The missed grounding calls, the PF call on Landers after getting punched, the peel-back targeting block reversal, etc. Many of those came in the 3rd quarter when Georgia had a chance to pull away.
Overall, I wasn't happy with the way the game started but I liked how the team responded when they were challenged early on. Despite winning convincingly, there's still plenty to room for improvement, and a few weeks from now no one is going to remember that Tennessee competed with Georgia for a quarter except for Tennessee fans.

5-0 in fantasy
Wilson, McCaffery and Cook are having great years for me.
Dawgs look good too except for our head case punter that might cost us a game if we aren’t careful.

Kirby is actually a lot more aggressive (maybe it is Lanning) with the defense this season. He's not calling blitzes just to be aggressive. When the opponent is in the redzone or in an obvious passing situation, we are a lot more creative. Check out the last sequence of plays before the end of the game keeping tennessee out of the endzone.
The complaint from Bama fans about Kirby was that he played base with just a 4 man rush too much. I think we are taking more chances when the opportunity better presents itself.

I'd say its better than very good. And we are the only team that hasn't given up a rushing TD in the nation...

Is it just me, or are we not as explosive running the football this year?
Kind of surprised about Swift's lack of big plays so far. The only long rushing score I can think of came from Kenny McIntosh against Arkansas St.

We haven't faced any good running teams yet, and hardly will the rest of the season. Florida, Tennessee, TAMU and Vanderbilt are the lowest 4 in the SEC to date. I believe Notre Dame was missing their top two RB's. Auburn may be the best we face this season, but their numbers aren't great and heavily skewed by 467 yards against Kent St. Maybe Missouri or South Carolina, but both very inconsistent? So far this is a weak year for rushing offense in the SEC.

We are definitely not ripping off the long runs as often as when it was Sony, Nick, and Swift as the third guy. That was a pretty amazing trio.
Swift, Cook, and White are certainly all capable of busting out but the latter two aren't getting all that many carries.
Seems like our reliance has been heavily on Herrien and Swift. Herrien isn't a home run guy.
Maybe the WR blocking is still a work in progress compared to last season?

Every game was against a loaded box, no?

I think Zamir is our best back right now. Giving him 10-15 carries per game by year's end will make us better. Swift is an elite back "in space" but not elite running between the tackles. Just my opinion.
Need Pickens to be that "AJ Green" type receiver. We need one of those. Hopefully he is the guy.
I thought Adam Anderson would have a big year. I know he switched to ILB. Don't even see him in mop up duty. Shocked there.

Is this official? I thought he was just getting reps with the ILB group on spying QBs (and back with OLB for everything else).

Ditto on long runs. I heard some announcers talking up Swift and some even saying he was a Heisman candidate at the beginning of the season. We often looking like we are grinding for yards; then there have been some bad short yardage downs for us on offense. It really goes under-stated how good Kirby and the staff are at making half-time adjustments. We've seen so many times we come out on defense and shut down opposing teams. Kirby doesn't get enough credit for that. Also, can't remember when we had this hard of a schedule.

that's probably a stretch but I really want him to get more carries. His first action ever in the opener he looked incredible. Then we kinda stopped giving it to him for a while and he didn't even get a carry against ND.
I konw we all like herrien but I'd like to see zamir eat into some of his carries. I think the general breakdown should be somethign like Swift ~55% / Herrien ~25% / Zeus ~20%

This may come with mixed reaction but I swear Swift has gotten too big. In order to be the bell cow, I know he needed to pick up a few lbs in order to maintain through the year, but at what cost has it come?
He almost seeks more contact now and the scheme for him has been more through the A gaps vs. off tackle. Don't get me wrong, he's still a legit runner and home run threat...it just seems like he is a 'different' runner this year.
Where's the dead leg while standing in a phone booth type space run like against Kentucky?
Still early in the season and I think we need to continue to share the load with all of our backs until we get down the stretch.

I'd love to see Zeus get the sort of carries/chance to shine like Swift did in the SECCG against Auburn in '17.
