That blog is a particularly egregious example.
It's obviously bait for political commentary, but then he continuously goes out of his way to shut down people in the comments for predictably taking the bait. But it's only a certain point of view that gets the reprimand. It's a bullshite double standard.
The dude (Blutarsky) also used to identify himself as a libertarian, and he still denies the "liberal" label any time someone applies it to him, but I think he's deluding himself at this point. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck... etc.
A lot of the appeal of that blog for me used to be the free reign people had to express themselves. The "Playpen" concept was an attempt to keep that going, I guess, but I think it's only made the slant and censorship worse.

I didn't mean to hijack your thread, JD. I'm just glad to see I'm not the only one who has grown a little disenchanted with GTP over the last several years.
I've never looked into The Athletic. I don't have enough time in the day to read all of the online content I want to read as it is. And I honestly need to spend more time away from a screen.

Personally, I check in GTP for links to other sites and occasionally some football observations. His obsessions about money to the athletic department, politics and amateurism are a bit much.
I have an athletic subscription and it’s great.

Didn't Jeff Schultz head over to The Atlantic, as well? If so, frick him in particular.
Couldn't stand his sandy vag about UGA.

but mixing in the political stuff is starting to get old. I hear enough of that bullshite elsewhere, when I read football stuff I'd rather finally not be inundated with politics.
You WILL be made to care, citizen.
