Anybody have a subscription?

If so, is it worth the $100 bucks a year or whatever it costs?

A lot of Georgia fans read the Get The Picture blog, right? By a guy calling himself Senator Blutarsky.

How much money do you think he makes off the ads on that blog?

Follow-up question: How do you get press credentials from UGA to cover the football program?

***this has to do with the future of sports reporting

I do...got it just to read Emerson's material. If you wait and watch the prices they have some ridiculous sales.

Other than Emerson I follow the braves beat guys but that's it.

5/10 probably not worth it

I've been reading Get the Picture since around 2007.

The Georgia football coverage is great, but the Trump obsession and consistent political trolling that has gone on over there the last several years is pretty damn obnoxious. Some of the white knight prog commenters over there are just insufferable cocksuckers. I just tend to keep out of it and scroll on by.

I didn’t realize how much I appreciated Emerson until he disappeared behind a paywall..and left Chip Towers as the only adult at ajc / dawgnation

I’ve tried reading Get The Picture, but it just doesn’t hold my interest.

I would bet more people read his blog though than there’s people that listen to the ajc dawgnation podcast though.

So, how do press credentials work?

Are places like the Athletic and Dawgnation in business only because these outfits get the credentials from UGA that allows them to hire the best writers?

Hang on

-Georgia stuff is good because of Emerson
-Braves suck because DOB doesnt know shite
-Falcons stuff I dont really read
-Good national coverage on baseball, football, and college sports.

Its not something I ready everyday, but its worth it with one of the big deals.

I subscribed when they ran a 50% discount special in December and have really enjoyed it. Lots of good, in depth reporting on Georgia and college football in general. I also follow the Braves and Falcons writers but don't read every article they publish except for UGA articles. So far, its been well worth the money to me.

I have it but don’t even remember how much I paid. If it’s $100/yr that is too much. Probably worth $5/mo

I subscribed a few weeks ago when they were having a sale and it was like $30. It's been worth it thus far, I usually read at least a couple of articles every day. The UGA specific content is probably better than what you find on more expensive pay sites imo

I’ve read that blog for years and this is why I never will again. He can take his political opinion, wad it up,, and shove it iup his dog’s arse. And the biggest cocksucking idiot in the comments section has hijacked my handle. That place has devolved from entertaining to irritating.

So it’s not liberal literature? Or they have an anti Fields article?

I got a special for like a year for 30.

It’s worth it but I don’t read it daily like I used to. Contrary to what someone else said I like DOBs Braves coverage since he moved. I was reading almost every day in baseball season.

I wouldn’t do it just for UGA football. I like discussion here better

Doesn’t shock me to find out he’s one of those.

What I remember the few times I tried to read his blog was all of that Chandy Lion type vernacular with all the “Methinks”, and “musical palate cleansers”and ending sentences with the word “no?” to turn it into a question, etc. and the rest of the try-hard fake intellectual George Will pretentiousness .

Aka red flag 100 decibel fraud alerts

Yea I usually read GTP as my first site of the day but mixing in the political stuff is starting to get old. I hear enough of that bullshite elsewhere, when I read football stuff I'd rather finally not be inundated with politics.

Here’s where I’m confused.

I’m not saying the Get The Picture blogger wants to be a journalist or that Seth Emerson would want to be a blogger. What I’m saying is that if Seth Emerson had his own website, that he’d have more readers than Senator Blog boy. And ajc Dawgnation etc. And would dominate.

But.......Emerson can’t have his own site because he would lose his press credentials.

So it all comes down to who controls the press credentials.

CONCLUSION: UGA is in cahoots with the big media conglomerates in a racket which controls the flow of sports coverage to the detriment of The People. And we need to start a revolution to overturn it.
