Actually Schiano did know, and reported it, and was told to shut the frick up, so Schiano got the frick out of there at his next opportunity. It's all documented. Yes, he did know. But, he reported it. Schiano is ok in my book.

I don't know about everybody else, but I'm enjoying the frick out of watching Tennessee meltdown even further. This is a classic case of schadenfreude, by definition.
That miserable fan base deserves exactly what they're getting. This is what happens when you have a revolving door at athletic director and in the head coach's office for 10 solid years. They need to aspire to Ole Miss and Miss State type numbers for another decade before they regain any sort of notoriety. Because that's what it's going to take. These malcontents bastards are screaming for their coaches head every time a snap gets bobbled, and that's not how you fix the problem.
Not saying the butch was the answer, but he was probably their best shot in the next 5 years to actually make something happen.

I hope to think that if I knew that was going on I’d do more than just report to my superiors. That shite warrants a call to law enforcement.
I know easier said than done but that’s about as bad as it gets.

Well, FWIW, the only person who made that claim was McQueary...and that was based on second hand claim that Schiano reported (to the other guy - Tom Bradley?) having caught Sandusky "in the act." But Schiano claimed that never happened. McQueary is the only one who is on the record as having witnessed stuff and reporting it...and of course he got himself a $7M jury award a couple of years ago for whistleblower retaliation after PSU spent a decade ruining his life.
Regardless, whether Schiano reported things to his superiors and they told him to shut up and he got the heck out and gave a tip to law enforcement...or whether he just heard rumors...or if he was clueless as he still claims...I don't see any culpability on him.
The Knoxville folks were grabbing for the pitchforks for nothing.
The billion dollar question: Did JoPa know???? They'll be debating that one forever.

How times have changed. I remember Tennessee was an edge better than us in the mid to late 80's; then after that they dominated us for a decade. Fulmer used to recruit a lot of top guys out of the Atlanta area like Jamal Lewis. The Vols may have to stick it out with Pruitt. The only real options are either let Fulmer take over or promote Tee Martin. I suppose they could have Fulmer take over and have Tee as HC in waiting. I suppose they could try to do something crazy like go after Urban Meyer or Hugh Freeze.

Paterno tried to keep Sandusky away from the program after he retired in 1999 but Spanier overrode Paterno and gave Sandusky rights to the athletic facilities, including keys to the buildings.
