The thing everyone has to remember about this year is that once it is over, we will once again go into a new season without a proven quarterback. Spurrier seems to always have two quarterbacks who can play. So we better win this year as next year is a learning year.

It wasn't like that when he first got here, that's for sure. However, next year we'll have a 5th year SR, who has already beaten two ranked team (Thompson), so I get what you're saying.

Idk, Hutson's less than stellar G Days haven't scared me. If anything I kinda feel like we have a more than capable back up and a real solid guy to go to in a transition year hoping Ramsey unlearns the wing t.

Next year will not be a "learning year" jimbo

Unless Richt is truly a masochist, I'm sure Mason will get plenty of mop up this season. He should damn well know the playbook. There'll be some miscues I'm sure, but he'll have a beastly supporting cast to lean on

As long as he doesn't cost us games, I'm sure he can outplay a season like Golson had at ND last year

That's how I see it too. Mason won't need to be a world beater and this offense can move to a more ground and pound, run heavy MO with Mason pulling his best AJ McCarron

Yeah, he sure was lucky that Shaw has been hurt so much that Thompson has been getting playing time.

Yea, but what I dont get is when a fan speaks up about it, that somehow makes said fan not a real fan. What the Disneys fail to realize is that coaches are only commited to a program and its fans because of a very large paycheck. Giving up on said coach has nothing to do with giving up on team. It has been spoken.

Speak up, but people need to bring facts not just rants. And I'm not talking about anyone specifically.

In Murray's first year as a red shirt freshman, we were 6 and 7. He had to go through a learning process to get better.

In Cox's one and done year, we were 8 & 5. He had to learn as he never really played a lot before.

Even Stafford and Joe T had to learn in Stafford's first year. We were 9 & 5.

So the point I made was that anyone expecting a championship year next year should reset their expectations. Mason has no real experience and if Richt is consistent, he will not get much this year. If we are going to win an SEC championship, it will have to be this year. Next year is not looking too good.

It's all about the running game.

UGA has had a lot of woeful running attacks under Richt/Bobo.

It's nice to point at the QB history under Richt.
But if you want to beat top 25 opponents, you need to have a ground game.

In Shockley's one and done year we whipped people and won the SEC. Mason is a really good QB that could have gone and played at a lot of other big schools. He'll be ready to go next year. I do agree that a lot of eyes will be on Richt this year and he has a win one sooner because there is no later tag within the program. He knows McGarity won't put up with much more of his goshdarnit we were close BS.

I agree with that. Just do not throw too many interceptions.

The DC and the other defensive coaches give me hope even with the turnover in players.

But what is may be the best coaching change is the offensive line coach. He has to be able to pick good horse flesh and then coach what he has. I thought I saw a great amount of improvement this last year so I am hoping for the best.

Do you mean out of high school? He MIGHT have had one other big time offer.
