Dude you're literally comparing playoff games to bowl games that's essentially like comparing preseason games to the Super Bowl.

Nobody would say that it is a risk one takes. Some chose not to take it and going after either of them would be insanely idiotic

But one had more passion for his team than the other.

And passion is worth something. Isn't it?

Or is it all just business?

Are you really saying Baker didn't have passion for the team. Jesus yall are nuts

And yeah if there's not a title or trophy left to play for it's basically a business decision

I'm not letting you slip out of this one.

Snell played his extremely meaningless bowl. He is a high draft prospect.

Baker did not play in his very meaningful bowl. He is a high draft prospect.

My Conclusion- Snell has more passion for his team than Baker.

Your Rebuttal- Snell took a chance and came out ok, but Baker made the smart decision.

Please correct me.

Snell is not the top rated prospect at his position and had a chance to improve his stock and also break a school record.

Baker likely is the top prospect and could not improve his position in relation to his competition nor set any school record.

Or maybe it’s because one is more passionate than the other. Or maybe it’s because one is less risk averse that the other. Who knows we aren’t in the locker room

This is an objective truth

This is just your opinion

I'm not going to dog Snell for playing
But he did take a risk and it worked out. There is 100% a risk when you play an extra game that can't bring you a title. Going after players for not wanting to risk it is pure fan entitlement

Going after players

I want to make it clear that I don't condone grown men going on social media to give college players shite on their twitter page or instagimp or whatever the kids are doing these days, quitchat etc. That's a tiny portion of shitbags that do that.

You are talking like an ambulance chasing attorney who works nights at Mellow Mushroom to pay the lease on his empty storefront and partially obscured billboard on 78 through Loganville.

Fans pay the bills. You'll run out of fans before you run out of football players who are getting a full ride, room and board, tutors, perks, overlooking shady academics. You always run out of payors before you run out of payees, in any business or institution, throughout time. McGarity will never be out in front of Walmart with ringing a bell in a Santa hat asking for football players... but with the direction the sport is going, he might be out there soliciting for fans.

Tell me I'm wrong.

Yeah that's not happening just because there's a group of people complaining doesn't make it a minority just a loud minority

Is that a potato CHIP or a chocolate CHIP they’re playing for? What a dumbass! They all count the same. These guys don’t get paid any more or less for the CFP over the Sugar Bowl.

I'm guessing I'm about 20 years older than you.

Things I thought "not happening" 20 years ago-

After 9/11, our next president is black and named Barack Hussein Obama.

The internet will never take over retail because people want to see and touch and try out most of their purchases. The internet will only be successful in rare and obscure items.

A football coach can win 10 games a year and never get fired.

Facilities don't need to be upgraded, the fans don't care how shitty the bathrooms are, the fans don't care how long the wait is to get in the gate, the fans don't care about all the bells and whistles at a game, they just want to watch the team play.

The only people that carry cell phones are CIA agents, stock brokers, and drug dealers.

The Grill is a great restaurant.

Iraq will never be a problem again.

I could go on and on.

Don't take the warnings of old people lightly. We have the benefit of hindsight that you will also have someday.

Quitting is not cool.

Attendance overall has been decreasing. In a lot of cases, people can't justify the cost of showing up for games, that shite gets expensive even if you have the money to burn. The powers that be are banking big time on TV money being there forever and that's not always a sure fire bet.

Is Baker going to lift weights and train for the draft? Can he not get injured doing that as well? He can get injured walking across a room. With this mentality, he might as well sit in a sealed room until the draft.

I'm not all that upset about it, but it is disappointing and this problem is only going to get worse. Saying a Sugar Bowl is pointless is silly. We're not at the level to say that. Bama might can say it, but even that would be silly.

You know the day is coming where a player is going to sit out the playoffs. It's only a matter of when.

So, not playing one game that will do nothing to increase your NFL payday, but will increase (if only slightly) your chance of never getting an NFL paycheck because of injury makes sense; however, playing two games that will do nothing to increase your NFL payday, but will increase (if only slightly) your chance of never getting an NFL paycheck because of injury is COMPLETELY different?

And you know a ring and being in this history books but yeah same exact thing.

So a potential first-round pick should therefore be willing to pay tens of millions of dollars for the opportunity to play in the NCAA playoffs, right? Because he's effectively gambling his future NFL payday on the hope that: (1) his team will win both games; (2) he won't get hurt in either game.

From a "protecting your future livelihood" point, they are absolutely meaningless. Winning the playoffs doesn't get you a single dollar more in the NFL, but playing two games doubles your risk of injury over playing in a single bowl game.

I'm 27 and I can't stand this! This ain't basketball or baseball this is FOOTBALL. This is a TEAM sport that requires all 11 dudes to play their position selflessly to be great as a unit. The last thing football needs is selfish players. They ruin what makes this game so great and stand out from the rest.

I wish Baker had played I understand the decision think it's a little selfish but thats where we are at. I would be far less upset if he had announced this earlier and given his backup time to get ready. He originally said he was gonna play and stood on that holier than thou platform and jumped close to the bowl game.

That was my BIGGEST issue!!
