I doubt it. I really think they will go with someone with head coach experience......but really, who knows?

All of the supposed candidates left on their board lack HC experience

I think it'll end up being Pruitt.

No sitting head coach wants that job, apparently.

Reports have it down to Tucker, Pruitt, and Kevin Steele.

i doubt he goes....

I think it is funny that they are literally like a hot girl with aids right now....attractive but not attractive enough to risk death.

I don't think Tucker is their first choice, but I think he's one of their top candidates (obviously). I think Steele is the guy that Phil wants because he's a "Tennessee Man". Could be wrong, but that's how I see it.

Can't imagine that guy as their HC...his press conferences would quite entertaining though.

One thing about Pruitt is that he is as far you can get from Butch Jones. NCAA issues would be a constant concern, though.

If it was me, I would go with Tee.

He lacks the experience, but at this point that's a good thing because those with experience aren't touching that job. Plus, he's a UT guy. And, as they rebuild, he learns.

Seems like a no brainer to me. But then again, Tee would have to agree in the first place.

Really? I thought they still had some. Ok. Well, so much for my theory!

So, it looks like they want to put an emphasis on defense. Their offense was pretty bad this year, too.
I hope they go with Steele. Hurt Auburn.

His previous 9-36 (1-31) record at Baylor doesn't exactly suck for us either...

At this point I think they want to put an emphasis on having a HC.........any HC.

Yep, they have screwed up their search process so badly that at this point they can forget about an experienced homerun hire and just hope for a solid personality who can recruit.

As has been repeated often... he doesn't want the job. It's a no win situation for him. He's revered as a legend... all that goes out the window if he took the HC position. He's said he might be willing to work as a QB coach at some point, but always gets squirrelly on it, my guess is because he likely doesn't even want to do that.

Peyton has been part of the search process....doing interviews and the like. He is still a big part of the program.

Pruitt is not head coach material. He has the personality of a piece of 2x4 and a huge part of that job is giving speeches and kissing babies.

Bruce Feldman is implying that CJP is the frontrunner.
