so a friend asked me today if I thought we would beat both Florida and UK..

without hesitation I said yes..I told him that if Richt was still our coach I would not say the same, but Richt is not our coach and I think some serious buttkicking and changes are coming these next 2 weeks. My response included some possible changes coming to the secondary and ILB..both in personnel and scheme. Plus I stated that while I don't understand the QB handling, I expect to see much improvement from Fromm or he sits. I think when Fields finally learns to protect himself from getting his insides knocked into his throat (at least once a game), he plays a lot more. We both agreed Cheney is bullshite (my friend is a UT alum and has a pretty negative opinion on the fat one)

I never trust anything a fan of our rival says about UGA coaching or players. Bias, even unconscious bias, runs too deep. Your negative opinion about Chaney gave him the green light to pile on. UT fans in particular seem quick to recognize bad coaching, except when it's at UT.

The lizards arent going to the SECCG. I still think UGA will get to the SECCG against Bama but they won't get past that because Bama is Bama. But anyone who really thinks the lizards are going to win the East is smoking some really good shite.

I think you are both wrong here. He is not great, but he is not bad, either. He's probably average to a little above average.
Tennessee nor Arkansas had much talent when Chaney was there. People can argue back and forth about a coordinator, but in truth, if you have no talent a coordinator will look bad and if a team is loaded a coordinator will look good. (See several ex-Alabama coordinators to see what I mean. Once they left Alabama they suddenly became average to below average coordinators)
Some might argue that Smart probably lets Chaney do what he wants because Smart was a DC, but nobody knows what gives a defense more trouble than an ex-DC. Plus, Kirby doesn't strike me as a hands off kind of guy. I suspect he is very much involved in the game planning and game day decisions.

Yeah, I wasn't putting Chaney down, just pointing out that fans' judgement is clouded when it comes to evaluating rival coaches. Chaney's offense played a big role in getting us to the NC game last year with a true freshman QB. Sure, we had great running backs, but that still took a lot of good preparation and gameday decisions by our offensive staff. I've seen a lot of Ga fans throw Chaney under the bus, but I think he's done at least as well as his counterpart on the other side of the ball.

I agree with this. Folks should realize that Chaney is calling the type of game Kirby wants him to call.
