if Big Ben and Wilson hang on the the starting spot. Fighting for those same spots are 2 5* and 1 4* freshman.

These are good times my friends. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

They are going to be too fat and slow. We need smaller more athletic linemen so we won't need the defense to keep bailing out the offense like last year. [sarcasm]

i get the Sarcasm but the truth is somewhere in the middle. We have had the largest line in football before and they were not so effective. We have had smaller quicker lines that did well at times but got their ish pushed in other times. (Remember Kubby w/ Nichols St? This OL has size and athleticism. Its kind of an exciting time to be an OL fan in Athens.

I meant to respond to this earlier.

Bigger is not better.

5*'s aren't awarded based on size. It is a combination of size and athleticism. Simply being 6'7" 370 doesn't make you a five star.

Being 6'7" 370 and running a 5.0 40yd and being agile on cone drills and showing endurance at the various camps are what makes you a 5* on the offensive line.

If a 6'3 300 guy and a 6'7" 370 guy both have the same measurables on cone drills and athleticism etc, all things being equal, you take the bigger guy at that position.

Richt recruits in addition to a subpar S&C program.

Kendall Baker was a product of Richt’s S &C program playing in the 280 range getting raped by teams with dominant Dlinemen. Kang Kirby and Pittman got em close to 310 as of last weeks roster and I think he will be a dam good one this year at LG. Fellas, we got us a dominant line.

When you've got Solomon Kindley, Jamaree Salyer, Trey Hill, Justin Shaffer, and Netori Johnson in your group of guards, Baker needs to get fewer reps over the course of the season as we phase out the last of Richt's mediocre OL recruits.

Offensive line was a recruiting struggle for most of Richt's tenure. Clearly Smart doesn't have that problem.

Right outside this lazy summer home
You ain't got time to call your soul a critic no
Right outside the lazy gate of winter's summer home
Wondering where the nut-thatch winters
Wings a mile long just carried the bird away
Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world
The heart has it's beaches, it's homeland and thoughts of it's own
Wake now, discover that you are the song that the morning brings
But the heart has it's seasons, it's evenings and songs of it's own
There comes a redeemer, and he slowly too fades away
And there follows his wagon behind him that's loaded with clay
And the seeds that were silent all burst into bloom, and decay
And night comes so quiet, it's close on the heels of the day
Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world
The heart has it's beaches, it's homeland and thoughts of it's own
Wake now, discover that you are the song that the morning brings
But the heart has it's seasons, it's evenings and songs of it's own
Sometimes we live no particular way but our own
And sometimes we visit your country and live in your home
Sometimes we ride on your horses, sometimes we walk alone
Sometimes the songs that we hear are just songs of our own
Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world
The heart has it's beaches, it's homeland and thoughts of it's own
Wake now, discover that you are the song that the morning brings
But the heart has it's seasons, it's evenings and songs of it's own

Fever spells like these never end well. Except for my total score.

Deeprig, Just please be original about it and don’t copy a Gata, Alapaja, etc in your way down the messageboard fever addiction drain....

Pretty sure the entire OLine, save Thomas were Richt recruits....so Cobb Dawg has the answer. No doubt, however, the Oline will be bigger, stronger and more talented going forward, though.

When we had the largest o-line in the pros and college I think Cordy Glenn was probably the best player and I didn’t even think he was that good and better in nfl than college. May be getting the years mixed up. Difference now is Thomas Cleveland and Wilson look like god forsaken silverback gorillas. Not fat pudge balls.
