Thought this was interesting. I can't speak to this guys credibility but it does add another log on the fire regarding the talent on this UGA team. We're 25 out of 25....with a lot of SEC teams ranked higher.

Take it for what it is....

BTW...from August.

It is what it is. Smart needs to do some major recruiting to get his next team in the SECCG. It will probably take at least 2 more seasons to fill all the holes with experienced players.

This is bullshite, I read here on this very website that those three lineman were not pro material.

Based on the UGA players, was this players draft eligible after this season?

Well...the guy did talk about LC being a potential after being coached up by Kirby. I kinda wished I hadn't linked it after that.

But where are those 3 lineman projected at in the NFL and where are they playing at this season? Didn't read the link about to go to work, but I think most would agree that some of our OL are playing out of position, like Pyke may be better as a guard, Wynn at LT, etc.

My guess is they consider him too small. There have been some pretty small players in the NFL, though. His hands are questionable, too.

I understand what you are saying, but what would you prefer if you were a coach? Play three of your OL in their natural positions (Which, by the way would probably be C, LG and RG) and have a killer middle to the OL with some suspect at Tackle, or play them out of position and have a suspect OL all the way through?

We probably run the ball up the middle more than most teams. I also understand that you would want a good LT to protect your QB, though.

Catalina has been referred to as a D3 cast off... now he is on the pro draft board... seems odd Is all.

I have seen him referred to in this way, too. People on the board have unrealistic expectations of an OL. They expect them to open up big holes and not give up any sacks or get beat. That just isn't reality. Every OL playing has been beaten.

When you are 8th in the nation in recruiting and 6th in the SEC and third in the SEC East it doesn't matter how many you got in the NFL....we are and have been at a disadvantage with the rest of the top of the SEC talent wise for many years...

Huh?Only Bama and LSU have better cumlative recruiting rankings than UGA
in '14,'15 and '16.

Draft boards include many people who never play a snap in the nfl.

I will take your word on it and it makes my point...we wouldn't win an SEC title against either one. If we played in the west and recruited as we do we would have 2 losses to these 2 probably 90% of the time and for certain against one or the other...the years that we would beat them both would be so monumental that we would remember them forever...

thats who is to blame...if Smart recruits in the top 6 in the country and the top 4 in the SEC and second in the SEC east he is going to have to be a better coach than the other 4 teams in the conference to be a consistent contender...

The problem with our cumulative recruiting rankings is it's skewed towards skill players with insufficient strength in the foundation/trenches where it matters most. Example: there are many serviceable RB's in college football playing behind a superior OL.
