Because I believe in our boys..this could easily play out..

SEC Champ (Georgia 12-1)
Big Ten Champ (Ohio State 13-0) or PSU
Big 12 Champ (Oklahoma 12-1)
ACC Champ (Clemson 13-0)
PAC 12 Champ (Oregon 12-1)
Alabama 12-1 (loss to us)
LSU 11-1 (or loss to us)
Penn State 11-1 or 11-1 OSU

The conf championship and both getting to play a highly ranked team in finals really would help Oregon and Oklahoma arguments. Penn State plays Ohio State (likely the number one seed in this scenario) so their argument might be the greatest of the one loss teams. Us beating Bama (and losing to USCe) would undermine LSU..especially when all their big wins/loss would have been diminished by then with us also beating AU, Al and FL.

We are LSU worst potential nightmare should they win Sat or not.

Caveat..we have lots to take care of.

You’re probably right. I thought Oregon had a better win than they did, but neither Washington team is very good.

oregon has nothing going for them at all to be honest. that pac 12 champion is going to have 1 (maybe 2 if shite breaks right, but low end) ranked win to hang their hats on. they will get passed by oklahoma in due time and just really need a lot of help (that they might get).

clemson loss, oklahoma loss, georgia loss would be huge for the pac 12.

Clemson - in
SEC winner in
Big Ten winner in

Potentially Oklahoma vs PSU/OSU loser vs Oregon vs Al/LSU loser (or loser against us!)

So potentially 4 or 5 teams with fourth team in argument. Could get interesting..especially if we make it and win.

Should we win, the loser of the LSU/Bama game is out.

Oregon would likely be out.

So, OK vs winner LSU/AL vs loser PSU/OSU

OK would have worst loss.

Would be between LSU/AL championship loser and OSU/PSU loser....

BUMP for this week when things have gotten extremely interesting.

here's what ill go with, holy shite it is very difficult to sort out uga, bama, oregon, minnesota

1) LSU
2) Ohio State
3) Clemson
4) Georgia
5) Alabama
6) Minnesota
7) Oregon

oregon stays the same on a BYE week and continues to have 0 quality wins. we jump penn state (definite) and bama (maybe not) due to our quality wins and nice 27-0 scoreline this week. minnesota jumps into the top 6 with their huge W.

i can't figure out where to put minnesota at all tbh.

You are "supposed" to throw out rankings each week when you are working on a new one.

If people are truly doing that, then there is no way Minnesota is ranked lower than 4th. They have a win against a top 10 team and are one of 5 undefeated teams. They didnt frick around and lose to Rutgers or Maryland, like Georgia losing to South Carolina.

They took care of business, so they should be rewarded for it......Baylor on the other hand is still struggling with Kansas and TCU, so I see why they should not be in the top 10.

Edit: top 10 with best wins
1.LSU
-Alabama, Florida, Auburn
2.Ohio State
-Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Indiana
3.Clemson
-Texas A&M, North Carolina, Florida State
4.Minnesota
-Penn State, Illinois, Nebraska
5.Georgia
-Florida, Notre Dame, Tennessee
6.Alabama
-Texas A&M, Tennessee, South Carolina
7.Oregon
-Washington, California, USC
8.Utah
-Washington, Arizona State, BYU
9.Penn State
-Michigan, Iowa, Pittsburgh
10.Florida
-Auburn, Miami, Tennessee

Baylor hasn’t played Kansas.

Saying Baylor is struggling with those teams while ignoring Minnesota’s horrendous non-conference play is very interesting.

every single person seems to isolate and stick on whatever they want to use as the most important metric in their mind.

i've decided it's quality wins (since that's what we have ), most seem to stick on losses, others penalize clemson for barely beating unc and then will completely ignore that for minnesota. it's just fascinating to me to discuss these playoff rankings for a number of reasons.

1) it completely exposes people's critical thinking skills
2) almost everyone will say something they value or care about and then directly contradict it in their rankings
3) it's interesting to see who values resume vs. "best team" and anyone that doesn't value resume first and foremost is a clown

the defense for my ranking is that im admitting that i don't know this week. i don't know how to evaluate undefeated minnesota versus us, alabama, and oregon. id be fine with them at 4, honestly. i don't really know how to evaluate baylor before they play oklahoma this week.

if we are behind alabama, is the committee actually fluid enough to have us jump them with a win this weekend even though they probably win by 50?

i think we are far enough into the season that im actually OK with any undefeated power 5 team being ahead of any teams with losses. if baylor or minnesota isnt that good, then they will lose, but they havent yet!
