Looks like we get to keep Mel if Alabama doesn't try to throw a ton of cash at him to replace Pruitt. I really think we are gonna start to see the decline of Alabama.

Pruitt will crash and burn. He'll be like Muschamp at FL without the track record and with worse self control. He's in the perfect position to learn first hand how to run a championship team from Saban - I think he's jumping too soon. Maybe I'm old fashioned.

We'll see in real time if all of the Pruitt fanboys were right when they wanted him as UGAs head coach.

I think they'll wind up on probation. Pruitt pushes the envelope. I question if that is indeed the reason he and Richt butted heads.

I'm honestly surprised by this. I thought Pruitt was Bama man through and through. Him taking this job won't leave a great impression with that fanbase.

Either Pruitt was tired of putting up with Saban's demanding attitude, or he's being sent there as a secret agent type to finish what Derek Dooley started.

He isn’t going to take squat out of the state unless Kirby doesn’t want them or have room. UT will be looking for a new coach in 5 years.

He can be as Bama as the day is long, but for the amount of money they are about to pay him, he couldn't turn it down regardless of how it makes the fan base feel.

Good to keep Mel, sucks to lose Sherrer. Get used to it though. If we keep winning like we think we will, going to be lots of coaches in and out of Athens over the next few years. The cost of success

Sherrer will likely leave to be Pruitt’s DC

ETA: need to take him off the road ASAP and send other staff to go see Adam Anderson. Pruitt was his primary recruiter and Alabama and Sherrer is for us

Do Sherrer and Pruitt get along?

There was some tension on staff under his DC time at UGA. I thought that Pruitt’s ways divided the coaching staff towards end of his tenure

I understand that with success our staff will be tabbed for bigger opportunities, but when it’s in the same conference and the same division it hurts a little bit more

Yes. Sherrer was a Pruitt hire.
Brown was the coach that almost killed him.

Sherrer is one of our ace recruiters so this will be a tough loss. Our best recruiter is probably Schumann, so we need to ensure he doesn’t go anywhere. The more we win, the more likely schools will poach from our staff. A&M is still chasing Coley, UT interviewed Mel, success has consequences. Good problem to have

Sherrer

His recruiting area is South Ga. We'll need a guy to take that over. Schumann is our future DC. Sherrer has hit his ceiling at UGA. The price of success.
But these guys got the ball rolling...... That's all we needed was a push!

Looks like Coley is staying at UGA. I want to say thanks to AmericusDawg for keeping us up to date on stuff and dishing out the good information.

Like one of the beat reporters said, (Dasher, maybe?): It's weird that our IPF is named after Tennessee's coach.

Lean towards him being Co-OC at A&M until hearing different. He was recruiting last night for us, so hopefully we counter the offer. Big money will be going out to the staff after this year.

I don't think I could ever dislike Pruitt for his time here. He just said and did what most were thinking. At least he's got balls. Would of loved for Thomas Brown to have gotten a hold to him that one time though.
Would of seen what ole JP was made of
