Positive takeaways

There are a ton of observations from that game that bode well for us going into 2018:
1) Fromm looked like the real deal. He missed some throws, but was a weapon instead of the liability most expected - especially in the first half. Second half game plan didn't help him much, but he was picking apart the top defense in college football.
2) Hardman and Godwin made some great catches. IF they can build on that next year, we will put up a ton of points.
3) Our OL held up well against probably the best DL in the country, and all but Wynn return next year. Outside of the first AU game, that unit improved each and every game.
4) Ledbetter looked great. If he comes back as expected, it will go a long way towards consistency on DL.
5) The team's attitude just felt...different. I am so used to seeing Georgia teams look like deer in the headlights, but we owned Bama in the first half. It backs up everything we have heard - Kirby has really changed the culture in Athens. Every year that he has to bring in top notch talent and mold them with that sort of attitude, there will be great things ahead.
Tough loss, but I am excited for next year. A distinct difference from the Richt days when we would build to contend for one season and then rebuild for the next year or two.

We have some very serious rebuilding to do on D... or in the case of the secondary just "building"

Ya other then RS3, everyone is completely replaceable and prob with better talent. Our secondary has been our Achilles since Kirby got here. Need some studs to come in and step up next year.
I actually could see our pass defense being better next year.

Absolutely. The fact that UGA came out the gates slinging the ball against one of the best defenses in the country is a testament to Fromm's development. UGA fans no longer have to wonder if/when Fromm can win us a national championship. He's already arrived. Developmentally, he went from a true freshman to a redshirt junior over the course of this season.

Lol. DUDE, forgetting anyone?

Indeed. They had some struggles, but Bama's front four are probably the best in the country. At the same time, there were also some plays where the pass protection was fantastic which allowed Fromm to make some key throws. Run blocking could've been better, but that's to be expected against a team like Bama.

I completely agree. Anyone who has been watching UGA football for at least the past 5 years can just tell that there's a marked difference in these Kirby Smart teams. It's that intangible something or other. Call it confidence, swagger, or whatever. But whatever you call it, this football program has it now. And you can bet your arse that - after nearly winning the NC - they won't be losing it anytime soon.

After half time when Wims was out Fromm was lost. He only had that 1 deep throw......that was it. He missed several short throws.

major oversight on my part. but yes, if Ridley can be that true outside receiving threat, and Landers can provide some jump ball opportunities...we could be set up very well.

I love the backshoulder throw as much as anyone. But I like how Murray/Bobo executed it better.
It was an option route. If the DB was beat, it was a go route. If the DB was on the receiver, it was the backshoulder.
Too many times this season, we were forcing backshoulder throws into a beat defender. The throw to Hardman was beautiful. We know that Fromm has that in him.
I would love for our team to build the chemistry needed to make that quick decision and adjust on the fly.
