As I expected. How could any talented player not want to be part of this team?

Can confirm...he's in a summer English class with one of my 2 kids currently attending UGA.

My projection for our starting secondary for majority of games has been

CB - D. Baker
CB - M. Webb
S - J. Reed
S - R. Lecounte
STAR - D. Gibbs

Still feel good about that prediction...and if that is the lineup, it will be the most talented secondary we have fielded in a long time.

I don't know about majority of games, but to start the season my guess is

CB Baker/Poole
CB McGhee/Stokes
S Lecounte/J.Wison
S Reed/Brini or Webb
Star Speed/Webb

Might could throw Otis in there at safety also.

Poole is playing safety/star now I believe.

I think the top 4 corners will be Baker, Webb, Campbell, and Mcghee

The guys that will play alot at star/safety will be Reed, Lecounte, Gibbs (starters), Wilson, and I think Poole.

I didn't put any of the freshmen in. That's why I said start of the season, too hard to predict how soon Kirby will be confident that they know what they're doing. But I'm looking forward to seeing Otis in action. That's also why I didn't put Gibbs in the early two deep; just not sure when he'll re-gain their confidence that he's dependable and up to speed.

Everyone is forgetting about Ameer Speed...he will get lots of time this year at multiple spots as well.

Aaron Davis, Malkom Parrish and Dominick Sanders were not very good last year. None of Sanders' interception were spectacular. Had he intercepted Tua in the endzone on that review play, this would be a different story and it would have made him some money. Gibbs and Webb should be a tall glass of ice water in the summertime for the secondary. With that said I'm excited to see the play of the secondary this year. This picture speaks a ton.

I think you're being a little overly critical of those guys. Davis started 4 years at every position in the secondary as a walk-on and Sanders is the program leader in INTs. They more than held their own and played above expectations.

As much as I want to be optimistic that there will be no drop-off with the guys replacing them, we may miss their experience and communication on the back end.

They were ok - Weve had much better safety tandems at UGA so the expectations are high. Dom definatly played above his 3 star rating but he also had some WTF moments in coverage. He was solid but not a huge hitter but he did have a knack for clutch picks.

I think athleticism plays a huge part too. Dom made a lot of plays but how many more could he have made if he were an elite athlete like Lecounte or Gibbs? Dom wasn’t overly big or athletic or even so overly prepared and smart but he had a ton of experience. I’m hoping the new guys can use their overall athleticism and size to overcome what they lack in game day experience

Hurried passes, caused by D-line pressure and blitzes helped Dom get his ints. I anticipate the same for our secondary as a whole this season.

Don had a lot of picks because he cheated in coverage. That cost us the national championship when he cheated to the middle of the field instead of staying outside the hash like he was supposed to.
