Bama non champ 1 loss does not get in over the following....

1 loss champs , UGA, daU, Clemson, OU

May get in over
1 loss champs, Wisky

Will get in over All 2 loss teams or 1 loss non champs

Well I can name one off the top of my head. Back in 2007 or 8 I think was the year everyone said you had to win your conference in order to go to the national championship. That allowed another SEC team to jump us in the polls that year

1) We were jumped by a conference champ
2) No undefeated major conference champs were left out

Well wasn't it BAMA that played in the NC even after they did not play in the conference championship game.

Yes in 2011. LSU was an automatic so there was a debate between 3 other 1 loss teams as to who would get in.

None of those scenarios would be crazier than a 13-0 major conference champ not even being in the final 4.

As much as I have tried to erase this from my memory. Your memory is correct.
This was in 2011 season when LSU went to Bama and beat them on their own field. The did not win their conference let alone their division but yet got a "Do over" card to play LSU AGAIN in the National Title. Which we will not discuss.

In short, Bama has recently had a scenario where they didnt even win their division and still got to play for a national title.
Must be weird in their stadium seeing 2011 National Champions but no where is there an SEC West or SEC champion banner. Not that they care.

Still pisses me off till this day.

And yes UGA got screwed one year as well.

Alabama seems to be in almost no matter what (whether they lose this week or the SECCG).

According to this Georgia still has a decent shot if we somehow lose to GT as long as we win the SECCG. Only gives us a 25% chance to win the SEC though...

That wasn't strange at all. The other sec team had a much better resume and rightfully went ahead of us

The more interesting scenario would be 2 loss teams winning their conference championships.
As it stands now:
1. Clemson or Miami are in as the ACC champion.
2. 1 loss Oklahoma is in if they win the Big 12 championship. But what if OU losses?
3. Wisconsin with no losses is in if they win the Big 10 championship but what if 2 loss OSU wins? Are they selected over a 1 loss non-conference champion Alabama?
4. Likewise, what if 2 loss Auburn wins?
5. 2 loss ND is likely out of the picture since they aren't in a conference championship but they have played a very strong schedule.

It's conceivable that two 2 loss teams could get in the playoffs. It's also possible that 2 SEC teams could get in if for instance there is an upset in the Big 12 conference championship. I mean how far should Bama drop if for instance they lose in a close game vs Georgia in the SECCG?

If you look at your scenarios. It basically is what I said

Nope. Bama will not get in over 2 loss SECC conference champion, Auburn. But you probably meant to qualify that contingency. And as unlikely as it might seem, if Bama gets blown out by Auburn, it's possible that other 2 loss conference champions would get in over Alabama. There's no doubt in my mind that the committee is going to have strong bias against selecting 2 teams from the same conference.

They would give it to the conference champion, not even a question.

Penn State would disagree with you.

You're not really trying to compare the situations are you?? Penn State had an extra loss. UGA would have the same record and would have the benefit of just beating Bama. Bama could still make it, but the is ZERO chance that we get left out if we win.
