My preemergent Scott's Halts just went down on the bermuda, it did a great job Oct-Present. Will reapply a third time April ish.

Home Improvement Projects for 2019:

New AC units outside.

New wainscoting (faux).

I'd like to also replace or repaint the shutters a different color.

My wife thinks "we" are redoing two bathrooms this year as well. We'll see.

What have yall's wives planned for your tax refunds this year?

I need to install some french drains in my backyard and I'm really not looking forward to it. Drainage is bad though, and has gotten much worse over the last year or so that it is starting to kill all my grass.

My wife however has planned a vacation with our tax return so I think I like her idea better.

I’m in the same boat. Back yard is basically a wet weather spring. Thinking of planting some willows and calling it a natural area.

Do you want a spoiler alert? That movie ends the same way more often than not.

You can apply for a government grant if you do...

My septic system is in the area so that’s a no go on the willows. It’s driving me crazy though

That was my front yard, and no, it grew in great. I documented the entire transformation in last year's thread.

Better work on the manscaping before the lawnscaping.

Yeah but no bare spots. What kind of operation do you think I'm running here? Are you that guy that bragged on landscaping experience because you used to chain up golf carts? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Ok. I'm in. Whats the best thing to put down to control weeds? I don't know the type and I'd actually have to take pics to show yall. I'll put down some Scotts for the grass though.

Another thing, are the snap in gutter covers (the mesh type found at lowes) worth it?

We just moved into a different house. So we have a lot planned. To start, I need to plant some Leyland Cyprus to quickly grow to screen a nearby road. Then wifey wants to plant some Ligustrums in some of the beds. The yard is in good shape for the weather, but I want to bring it on strong this spring. The house has rose bushes in the front bed. I am not a fan because they are not very full, but some of the surrounding houses have them too, so their fate is TBD.
