So are you honestly telling me you thought this when we hired him in '16?
I didn't say that. When he was hired I didn't know much about him, so I went back and looked at his career and I watched videos of games. I was impressed with the diversity of his offenses and his ability to scheme for what he had. I was disappointed with our 2016 offense, but most of my disappointment was directed at Eason who obviously was not ready. I've also praised Chaney several times the last two seasons and see no reason to change that opinion now. I'm not saying he's the best OC there is, but he's very good and we'll miss his knowledge.

Cheney was inconsistent his entire time at UGA. One week he would call a game that would leave you thinking he was a genius then the next week he would leave you thinking Rainman was calling the plays. I wish Mike was back because Bobo runs circles around Capt Crisco.

I want to see how he does in the red zone and his in game adjustments. Specifically adjustments against ND, UF, Auburn, and Texas A&M. All of those teams have enough talent and defensive coaching to make us adjust our game plan. I am also curious to see how he adjusts against UT and USC. All of those teams are going to try to make Coley change on the fly. Hopefully he can. That has been our issue against Bama. When they shut down our inside run game in the second half we couldn’t stay ion he field and our defense couldn’t hold up.
I also want to see if we actually use tempo against ND with an 11 personnel package and run multiple sets out of it when we catch ND in an unfavorable personnel grouping. IE, 3 WR, 1 TE and RB split Wide next play 3 WR bunch TE tight with RB in backfield. Being multiple with the same personnel and using tempo. That’s what Jimbos teams could do well.
I really wish we had brought in another additional P5 OC/Hc as an analyst. I know we got the pitt guy and I really think Johnson was helpful to the team. I think UNC’s Fedora and Kansas Beaty would have been nice additions.

Clearly 2 of Chaney's weakest talents at times.

Hell, can't wait to see the Vandy game and see what they're gonna do defensively and see if they're gonna try to emulate what Texas did on defense.

Good point. Not sure if Vandy has the personnel to try and do what Texas did but they probably will try dearly.
