Now I feel like I just asked how many outs are in an inning of baseball. Some tech student that I worked with on the turner field ground crew actually did ask that one time.

He might have been referencing losing the starting QB for 4 games to start the season.

Kind of like rolling with Stafford and Eason, this isn't the norm.

And Bama wins the game with freshman coming off the bench.Fromm was surrounded by enough talent to be successful and was good enough to keep someone like Eason on the bench.

What's the "norm" these days?Fact is freshman have to be ready to play and win for you even in positions like
AN and O-line.

Maybe there is a difference going a half of a game without defensive prep versus going 14 games tabbed as the starter.

The problem with freshmen is consistency. The good thing about freshmen is that they learn.

I'm sure that 8 wins crossed fans minds when Eason got hurt. It isn't unthinkable at that time.

i agree completely. frick the, "oh well maybe next year" attitude. there might not be a next year for 37 years. you don't just come that close and not be pissed about it. you can acknowledge that the entire year was a blast, but still be devastated.

i think we are damn good and i am as high on our future as anyone, but we could easily be the best team in the country the next 2 years and not make the title game. it's just not easy. this feeling sucks and i hate that i feel like officiating had a hand in it. i don't honestly feel like we truly got beat, and thats the worst feeling of all.

How the ref missed that face mask on Swift, and the horse collar at the same time, is very suspicious. The official was in position looking directly at that play and simply did not call either penalty.
We were at the 35 yard line at the other end of the field and I saw both penalties, as did many others around us.
All the false starts that weren't called were also rather obvious for everyone except the officials.

2012 was worse for me because after that I learned to temper my expectations

Likewise...I was very upset after last night but recalled what an amazing season we had in spite of an unfortunate ending. We exceeded all expectations and are poised to field some very very talented football teams in the forseeable future.
