I see all this talk about Fromm and shitting on the coaching. There were other players that stunk it up too.

Lets see:

1) Tyson Campbell looked absolutely terrible out there. didn't defend 1 pas all day, got beat and even straight up missed a assignment which resulted in a 50 yard bomb. Where is the outrage about this guy? What a shite performance...we are well into the season and he is still looking suspect.

2) Richard Lecount missed multiple tackles and appeared gassed at times. This guy has got to step up big time, especially with tackling bigger backs. Needs to hit the damn weight room or something.

3) Mecole Hardman I will give you that the overthrow was not his fault, but he had multiple drops after that and then fumbled the damn kickoff killing any hopes of a come back. Mecole stunk it up Saturday, yet no bitching abt him.

4) Jake Camarda this kid is struggling. Our punting has turned from a weapon to a downright soft spot. This guy keeps kicking the damn ball out of bounds. What was his average Saturday like 30 yards? My god he has been a huge disappointment.

I see a lot of Fields vs Fromm shite, but neither them nor the coaches have anything to do with these guys and their shitty performance as well. Hell, even Andrew Thomas gave up a sack late in the game. Nauta has a bad drop. there were others I'm sure as well.

Point is the whole team, outside of Swift and Holyfield, stunk it up. I hope we grow up and quick.

They all played bad too.

After a game like Saturday, every position on the field should be up for a re-evaluation.

They definitely went after Campbell. He didn't have a very good game. I can forgive Lecount for getting tired, he is having to tackle way too much for a DB- our ILB play this year is terrible compared to last year. Huge drop off this year in punting as well with Camarda - I had a feeling we'd miss Nizialek.

On the plus side though some of the freshman have looked good in limited time. Jordan Davis needs to start at nose tackle for us and Tindall, Reese, and Beal need more PT as well. It also goes without saying that Fields deserves to play in multiple consecutive series given our consistent offensive struggles.

I'm with you on Campbell. He's had a pretty quiet year up until this point, which is mostly a good thing, but it was a bad game from him. Every third down pass that LSU picked up (all from 5 yards or less to go) and all 3 of the 30+ yard completions were a result of Campbell getting beat or missing an assignment. I'd say I'm surprised the coaches didn't let Stokes play for a series or two, but after all of the questionable decisions throughout that game, it makes sense that no changes were made.

Same thing with LeCounte. We had allowed only one* run of 20+ yards all season. LSU broke off two of 40+ as a result of LeCounte missing a tackle. It doesn't help that the linebackers aren't filling the gaps or keeping contain on the edges, but it's your responsibility as a safety to clean up a play and make the tackle.

In a game where the defense was on the field for 80 snaps, it's pretty telling that 3 of the top 4 tacklers were DBs. The other was a DL (Ledbetter). Teams being able to run the ball up the middle AND to the edge shows just how big of a dropoff there is from Roquan to the current group of LBs we have now.

Considering they had two long passes that were completed uncontested due to broken plays in the secondary and one long run because our safety got sucked up and trapped in traffic....

This game reminds me of our first Auburn game, in that everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong.
I mean, we all see that there needs to be a lot of improvement across the board, and this team is not in the same ballpark as last years...but it is a very young team. We knew we would take a step back..or at least we thought we would.

If those are the best guys we have, then it’s absolutely on the coaching staff (or previous staff). I have a really hard time blaming players when the coaches are the ones who bring them in or put them on the field. For example, people hate Malcolm Parrish because of last season, but’s not his fault there was no one better than him to play.

ETA: that’s unless the player does something stupid like commit a terrible personal foul. Then it’s fair to blame them IMO

I'm more saying that most of these guys were in position to make the play and they didn't...now is that on the coaches? maybe...but all I listed are4/5* high school players and when it comes down to it, football is football.

I get that they are young, which is the ONLY reason I have hope we can turn some of this shite around.

But I am just tired of reading about Fromm vs Fields when it was a total team failure.

The problem with Lecounte is he is a hard hitting safety in the body of an average corner. I mean Campbell is like 4 inches taller than him and same weight. Lecounte hits hard but then he’s only 185 so it doesn’t bother the ballcarrier as much.

Reed is a better tackler than Lecounte but I find it concerning that neither of our starting safeties have halfway decent instincts when the ball is in the air.

Another guy I’m sick of seeing get trucked is juwan Taylor. Sing me all your songs about senior leadership and knowledge but that guy has no instincts and is a 210 pound mlb. For fricks sake put quay walker in and let him get confused a couple times. At least he’ll kill a rb or two.

Really disappointed in our ILB play for the most part, would like to see Tindall move into the starting lineup.

Beal had the best game of his young career. Keyon Richardson, a guy who barely saw the field in his first 3 seasons, has looked pretty good off the edge on 3rd downs. I liked what I saw from the pass rush... the only issue was they barely saw any opportunities to pin their ears back. Seemed like it was 2nd and 5, 3rd and 1, etc. nearly the entire game.

On both sides of the ball, a lot of guys had a solid game and others played very poorly. I was more disappointed in the coaching for this game than I was the players.

I'll give him a pass being a true freshmen.

2) Richard Lecount

Made a couple of bad breaks on the ball too.

3) Mecole Hardman

That fumble was a back breaker and you could tell how much it killed him that he did that.

4) Jake Camarda

Another true freshmen but I can't believe we don't have someone on the roster who can down the ball inside the 20 every time.

I put more blame on the coaches than the players. The offensive game play was shite. How does Holyfield kill it up the middle on the second drive and then we barely see him again. The deep ball wasn't there so how about some screens, swing passes, and short to intermediate routes.

Between Swift and Holyfield we were avg. 7 yrs a pop, I understand getting down early forced our hand a bit but IMO we abandoned the running game way too early.

We came out after that fake field goal and threw it 3 straight times. If we just keep pounding the rock we keep their offense off the field and give ourselves a chance to win.

Taylor is slow, doesn’t fill gaps, waits for the ball carrier and misses the heck out of tackles. I’d rather take my chances with a Freshman than Taylor at this point.

Rochester absolutely sucks. If you watch him play, he gets blown off the ball every other play. It's tough to be a good run d out of the 3-4 when your nose tackle is that bad
