This is not going to get it done. You have to decide.

The Coley hire was an enormous failure.

The QB decision was an enormous failure. Nothing Kirby does on offense makes any sense.

Management of Fields is equally as bad. It reeked of “I want to avoid a QB controversy at all costs.”

Fields was smart not to get Shockley'd.

He would have overtaken Fromm this year but can't argue with what he has done.

This is Kirby's equivalent of Willie Martinez. You either stop the bleeding right now, or you procrastinate until recruiting seals your fate. One more season like this and we'll end up in an offensive hole that Kirby can't fix.

We have to consider our selves the highest level and only rarely promote from with in.

We have to go get the best available to run our o.

This is why he needs to hire an OC that he trust and let them do their job. I don’t think Kirby ever truly trusted coley, but he had to live with his off-season decisions.

That being said, Kirby is only in his early years as a head coach and I hope he learns from his off season decisions

I agree. Promoting from within to a coordinator position is almost always a lazy decision. Coaches like familiarity, but the chances of the best man for the job already being on staff are low. We'll soon know if Kirby can quickly admit and rectify a big mistake.

Competition is a good thing.

Fromm and Tua both had guys chopping at their heals all year or were beat out in the case of Tua last 2...

This year, both programs were all in on QB1 and you see where they are

Uh, before Tua got hurt he was leading the country in QB rating without being in a competition for a starting spot.

Kirby is definitely at something of a crossroads. All of the great coaches have been able to look in the mirror and make significant beneficial changes in these situations. Hell even Coach O who everybody assumed was an idiot has made a transformation. Mark was never able to. In his own words ‘I know what the hell i’m doing’.

Our defense is elite and should remain so for years. but it’s clear that can only take us so far. Your move Kirby. I think we will know soon whether he wants to be something different or just another coulda been. it’s natty or bust for this program.

It’s pretty easy. Your bff, who happens to be a great OC and recruiter, is available. Not that hard.
