Gotta be laughing his arse off right now. He dodged a bullet avoiding being coached by Coley and Smart any longer.

Still doesn’t negate the fact that Fields is an elite talent.

They don't always frick up. They have a recent national championship in which they skull-drug Bama on the way to winning. And they have possibly the best QB in the country.

Sweet, another fields thread.

What I don’t get is what could we have done to keep him? Promised him a starting job? No one in the world is going to do that. He was going to leave regardless and to be honest, shouldn’t have committed to Georgia to begin with.

Under most circumstances I abhor playing 2 QBs, but Justin Fields was not usual circumstances. We should have done more to appease him. You don’t let a generational player like him go. But we were gonna be fine in 2019 without him because all we have to do is hand it off 80% of the time and let the muh biggest o-line in the country do it’s thing.

The good news is Jake will probably be back next year. Its not good because Jake isn’t elite but its good because our staff hasn’t recruited a suitable backup.

Great I look forward to one or two unforeseen bed-soilings in 2020.

I'm pretty sure he left because our coaching staff had no idea how to use him. If had actually been allowed to run the offense and pass the ball he'd still be here. Dude even said he wouldn't mind a redshirt as a freshman. All we did was waste of year of his eligibity. Well Smart has what he wanted a game manager that has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is not elite quarterback. Too bad we can't just run over teams like he planned.

Maybe put him in the game during Frommpocalypse 1.0 in Baton Rouge. That sent a pretty clear message on just how bad Fromm could frick up and still keep the job.

It's sad to finally say out loud that we kept the wrong QB

The difference is the bad plays. Fields bad plays can result in a scramble for 4 yard. Fromm bad plays are hilariously bad disasters.

That's the thing even is Justin stays and we make him QB1. This fricking playcaller wouldn't make him look anywhere near the player he could be. Same thing with Fromm. He had a shitty day but he's a good college QB. Hes not being put in winning situations tho

Sad, really sad. His legs are soooooo valuable. I remember Gary last year saying how he watched practice and Justin was throwing it all over the lot, that he was a very talented QB. Guess we'll have to watch the Buckeyes to see what could have been.
