That our team was expected to be 9-3/10-2 this year, fight for the east and maybe go to a NY6 bowl. We overachieved and went toe to toe with the goat football coach and the refs. We will have enough talent to make a tittle run even next year.

Unfortunately, that will not be the sunshine pumping narrative for this team in the future.
You only get so many chances in a championship like that. We should have won the that game. The way we lost will be tough to get over.

It certainly sets up nice on paper, but there are no guarantees. This was the best Georgia team of my lifetime and it still took a season of ridiculously good injury luck, historically bad seasons from rivals, a miraculous double overtime win in the semi, etc. just to get to the big game. Bama will be markedly better next season and beyond. There is no easy road, and historically, it's more likely we don't make it back than we do.
We are ahead of schedule, but that was the opportunity and we came up short.

Exactly, UGA has to find a way to win games like this. We are never going to shake the narrative of our reputation until we get it done. We got outplayed and coached by a team with far less experience than us last night.

Next year is all we have to look forward to. Put the SECCG and Rose bowl trophy in the case. Finish this class. Send some folks to the NFL and line up and play next year WTF else are we supposed to do?

Not sunshine pumping or betting on next year but the whole narrative preseason was:
Kirby needs to show improvement and if we win the East he will have shown that. Winning the East in a down year is the bar.
We did that and then some. We were playing with house money after we won the SECCG.
I’m just as pissed as any die hard fan and I’m not listening to any of the radio shows or highlights today. I’m still frickin pissed off cause having the chance to win a Natty is never guaranteed and you have to take advantage when you can. We lost a game that we had full control of because of conservative play calling and scheming in the 2nd half.
It’s all good to stay positive and hope for the best next year and to keep stacking the depth chart, but nothing is ever guaranteed.
Ill take the amazing storylines that we had this year but this will always be the year where, again, we choked in a situation where we could’ve sealed the deal.

It is the unfortunate truth that their is a credible narrative that sports in the state of Georgia do not win at the highest level. With Clemson having turned the corner last year, we will be known as the PREMIER choke artists in all of college football. That will be the national narrative about our university up until the moment we win a national championship.
There are lots of reasons why that probably isn't fair, but it is the way it is, and as with most things, perception is reality for the majority of people.

2018 UGA will actually remind me a lot of 2017 Bama. Best defense in school history and a young offense. We both lost on a last second play and people are all saying that we missed our chance.
Our defensive line will be monsters, our LB’s will be young but talented, our secondary should be fine but will be a question mark. Our offense will be elite. I’m proud of these boys and so should every dawg fan. They faced down the behemoth and smacked em in the face. We will be back and win one soon enough.

Tell that to Clemson.
I understand the SEC is different but I fully expect us to sweep the east again next year and end up in ATL. For what we may lose on Defense we'll make up for on offense. Also, these recruiting classes will start to have an impact.
I don't know what Bama will lose next year other than Pruitt - but I fully expect to play them again in Atlanta next December.
