When did you close your bar? Was downtown for the first time in a long time on Saturday and noticed it gone (replaced, rather, with the Silver Dollar).

Bars change around Athens like underwear. His pub was there no more than 18 months ago, I'm pretty sure. I just never heard that it had closed it's doors.

Me and my business partner were at each other's throats. I let him buy me out about two years ago. I haven't talked to him since. I don't know if he has any connection with Silver Dollar.

Cool! Me and about 10 friends watched the 2010 world cup game against Ghana there. It was nuts. This one extremely dark Ghana fan and their child came in the bar waving a ghana flag and they were both promptly pelted with cups of beer.
Do you currently own any establishments in athens?

Not in Athens. I'm back down in Savannah. Not in the bar/restaurant business anymore.

Gotcha. That's a shame. I was just surprised to see the new place there when I went Saturday.

Is it true there were tunnels that ran underneath the streets and connected some of the bars? Had a guy I used to work with said this was true when he worked at Bourbon.

As far as Athens goes, our place was an old bank so our basement was bricked up and an old vault that we turned into a walk in cooler. I never heard about any underground tunnels. But with Prohibition back in the day, it wouldn't surprise me if there was.
As far as Savannah goes, this is absolute fact.
