“I don’t want to put added pressure on guys but Matt Landers, he has done an incredible job,” Fromm said. “I think he’s ready to take that step. He’s a guy who has kind of been a work in progress for awhile. I really think he’s ready to take that step. He had a great spring. He’s had a great summer so far. He’s coming in, he’s doing extra, he’s doing all the right things. I’m looking for big things out of him and hopefully he can do well.”

Not many have mentioned Landers in the prior thread on our WR's. Apparently Jake has some confidence in him

I think we’re going to be pleasantly surprised with our receiver production. Without a designated go to guy Jake will be forced to spread it around and that is good for all of us.

He just needs at least one that can catch a back shoulder fade. He throws that pass so damn well.

A want to see a receiver who is able to adjust to under thrown deep balls by slowing, blocking out the defender and high pointing the ball.

That's pretty much exactly what I'm talking about, yet I don't think Fromm "underthrows" them as much as he throws the receiver open.

But, yes the receiver needs to be able to adjust.

You are right that Fromm doesn't under throw much. Jake might under throw more if he knew that his target is great at adjusting. It's a luxury not to need every throw to be on the money.

I remember a couple of Fromm's freshman throws that seemed badly under thrown but they were completed for big gains because Jake saw that his receiver was the only one watching.

Everyone including myself was pumping him up since last year's scout team hype but he sucked so bad at G-Day this year that we all stopped talking about him.

Based on the talent at the position, they should all be homerun hitters.

Fromm was asked what player will step up in 2019 and he replied Pickens

The Georgia quarterback compared the freshman’s potential to one of the all-time greats to ever play receiver for the Bulldogs, per CBS Sports’ Brad Nessler in a radio interview with 92.9 FM The Game’s Chris Goforth.
“Pickens especially kind of lit (Fromm’s) eyes up — (Fromm) said Pickens could be ‘the next A.J. Green,’” Nessler said about his recent conversation with Fromm.
“I said ‘Come on, you haven’t even thrown him a pass yet.’ (Fromm) said, ‘Yeah, but I am going to …”

Hmm... I wonder who named Matt Landers as their surprise WR in the offseason...

It's going to be entertaining watching the games this season (at least for me) with all the talent we have for the WR position.

We it’s good to see he finally turned the corner and started coming in....Landers just reminds me of so many of the spring practice all- Americans we have had who do nothing come game time.

We have a lot of tall, fast, athletic, highly recruited receivers on the team... I’m sure a lot of them will step up.
