Is it time to abandon pro style?

So im not gonna rehash on the disaster that was yesterday and I still think with UF losing we can right the ship.
However is it time for GA to implement a more modern offense with spread and a mobile QB? I love Fromm and company but. It just seems that the days of lining up with 5 tight ends and pounding the ball just isn't working.
It worked when we had Chubb and Michel as those 2 were the best back duo in UGA history imo, but our current RB setup just isn't capable.
Is it time or do you guys think Kirby will stick to his guns, even if it means running an ancient offense.

interesting take on the RBs..they are pretty good, but not like we had before..

The offense moves the ball (6th in the nation in total offense) we just don’t score (61st). It’s this nonsense conservative playcalling when we get in FG range like we don’t need TDs. Just kick 3 and play defense. That crap will get you beat

We are running a Spread Offense.

We have the talent to win with this offense I just have a hard time believing it’s not coaching that’s killing us. I agree that Kirby plays it safe way too much but Coley can’t find a rhythm to save his life.

I think it’s worth considering that the playcalling may not be as conservative as it looks. Fromm ultimately has to be the one to pull the trigger. He also has a ton of control at the LOS by all accounts.

Offense seems to move the ball when Fromm goes up tempo. Seeing teams starting to fake injuries and burn time outs to slow the game down makes me think they all know Coley is a chump and our QB is a better OC.

This is 100% closer to a spread offense than pro style. Look at our % of snaps out of the gun compared to stronger sets, not to mention we’ve abandoned the FB. Coley just has zero creativity and has no clue how to get his playmakers in space. Swing passes and Go routes after a dive for 3 yards are not gonna do it.

I don’t think our scheme is wrong. It’s how we are applying it. Plenty of teams run the same offense. We’re not in the Stone Age. Coley just has no imagination and can’t counter our decencies like a sub par WR Corp, lacking TE group, and game manager QB. Our strengths with RBs and OL are squandered by unimaginative runs up the middle or telegraphed end arounds to Cook or Simmons.
In other words the formations and foundation are fine. The execution, talent decencies, and inability to play to our strengths are the problem. James Coley is a problem.

We turned the ball over four times.

We turned the ball over four times, missed two field goals from a guy who hasn't missed any, the OL were not blocking well, and the refs were one sided. I think we are good enough to overcome three of those, but not all four.

We need to do what Alabama and LSU are doing bottom line.
No conservative play calling
No more manball
Run an up temp spread 100% of the time
Preferably a mobile QB
Game breaker at QB not game manager
Unless we make this change we won’t be blowing out good teams. Kirby seems fine with playing down to the competition and winning by the skin of our teeth.....I’m not. The teams Bama and LSU are beating by multiple TDs, we’d probably only win by one score against.

Still would have barely beaten a shite SC team. What does that say?

We don't really run a pro style, we run the ball from the spread.
Besides not sure pros run pro style offenses anymore.

Nobody runs "Pro" anymore unless it's a backwoods po-dunk high school. fricking idiots.
We were running the Spread with Chubb and Michel under Chaney. About four times a game we would get in the I and run Toss Sweep. But we have been running the fricking Spread for a few years now.

We have spread tendencies but you can't run a spread offense with a pure pocket passer and lining up extra tackles at tight end.
We are a pound the ball and setup play action. Which to me is more prostyle

Fromm is an above average pocket passer. Unfortunately with the speed of defenses these days that just doesn’t work anymore. Which is why the dual threat teams have so much success. Your stressing the defense in multiple ways each and every play.

Looking at the play by play - that game was an impossible combination of stupidity that resulted in a loss. Figure this out...
...Fromm throws pick 6.
...we go for it on 4th and 6 when it was obvious nothing was going to be easy. 4th and 6?
.....Rod gets a field goal blocked
....we fumble the snap on the SC 30
....we throw a pic on the SC 44
We basically chewed up the clock moving the ball to then finish the drive with a turnover, punt or something stupid.

The chewing clock style does give the D a chance to rest. In our case, it gives the illusion we have depth on D. We have bodies, we have “talented” highly regarded recruits. What we don’t have us useable talent. This is probably why Kirby won’t change.
