What in the frick? How is that even possible?? I started watching the replay on DVR and we were stopping them for the most part. I'll have to watch the whole replay to fully grasp it, but frick... 350?? Really?

Great run blocking line and two great RB's can do that.

Playing both fatboys, Geathers and Jenkins, simultaneously for most of the night.... so that they don't get a chance to rest like they normally do didn't help either.

While this is true, clearly UGA's defense is not in the same league as Bama, LSU, Florida and SC who would not have given up so much rushing yardage.

I still can't imagine after the penalties and 350 rushing yards given up we were still 5 yards away from a win

The offense didn't sustain long enough drives and ST blocked a punt and scored.

Our D lacks depth, and they were on the field more than anyone else on the team. They got tired.

This.

On a chalkboard, if everyone does what they are supposed to do, perfect execution, pretty much every run play is guaranteed 6 yards.

With an OL as experienced and well-coached, and disciplined as Bama's, it's not hard for great backs like Lacy and Yeldon to gash over and over and over.

The only way to stop it is to bring up your safeties .... = McCarron TD pass.

I think UGA's 3-4 makes them a little bit weaker on run defense... the idea is the 360# nose tackle takes up 2 blockers which leaves your LB's with a chance to kill that play for short gain, but when you have an OL as good as Bama's, it doesn't always work that way. If that nose tackle (jenkins or geathers) doesn't require two blocks, your 3-4 is more like playing with 10 men on the field. Add explosive physical running backs like Lacy and Yeldon, you get 300 yards in a quarter.

UGA is lucky that Saban didn't get this figured out in the first half.

By the way, this is the same thing UGA was doing with Marshall, until Nick went to what amounts to a 4-4... resulting in Murray going back to the air.

Well, I guess ATM on your woman makes me a homo

Seriously though, step back from the ledge. If we had some depth at DL it might have been a different outcome. That's the biggest key to me.

I saw in a thread earlier where someone refered to 'taking a dump' as 'taking a 20ounce'.

That shite made me laugh.

Yeah the game went just like last years contest with lsu. We give up a bunch of rushing yards on defense in the 2nd half. With what we had on the line i'm going to say this is the most disappointing loss in our history. Its sad to because our defense talked all that smack before the game and didn't back it up. Our defense was better last year at stopping the run most defintley

I didn't see Herrera in after the first quarter more than once or twice and it seemed like Gilliard missed every tackle he had a chance to get. I don't know if Herrera got hurt or what but not having a starter in the middle hurt a bunch. Maybe that doesn't account for all the 350 but it sure didn't help. And yes, this is my first post.

I said that, but you don't know it was about taking a dump. You assumed that.

It seemed to be two big items. On e they started running right at Jarvis and two right after we scored in less than 4 minutes in the 3rd quarter our D was on the field most of the way into the 4th. I mean they had a long drive that ended with a blocked field goal returned for a TD. Bama comes right back running the ball (Lacy's spin move) and they score and go for 2, we come out and go 3 and outm Bama comes right back with another long drive that ends the 3rd and then ends with a TD to start the 4th. After that we were just worn down, Even though the offense played well they chose a shitty time to have a 3 and out!

They didn't man the frick up. That's what happened. There were so many more inadequcies other than "man we just dont have the people". We were systematically and very effectively made non existent through out the game. Tired exscuses for tired Disneys. It will be the same exscuse next year which will be 3 years running. Anyone see a pattern here?
