He can flat play. His highlights feature several long runs in and through heavy traffic. He has Serious Afterburners.

#3 RB recruit in the country, wouldn't think many would be sleeping on him

Top recruit in the country and you’re calling him a sleeper? Haha. I guess when your “sleeper” is the highest ranked recruit not a 5star, things must be good

Cook's versatility will be fun to watch. There will be big gains. He played great in the Army game.

Zues seems to get all the attention, Cook has opportunity to just quietly come in and do what he does.

My sleeper for this year is Justin Fields. I think he is going to be pretty good.

If y’all remember this is exactly what happened with Keith Marshall and Todd Gurley. All I heard about pre season was Marshall and he was good but Gurley was special.

Difference is Marshall was well overrated as a recruit. Zeus is not.

Good thing we don't play Hawaii!

K Marshall's problem was always balance. It looks like J Cook does not have to worry about that at all. It is insane how stacked we are.

Richt is no longer here. Kirby's guys would never let one of our top recruits be served up as an entree.

I agree.

And I think the sleeper recruit for this year is appropriate.

Cook doesn't come in until Fall.
There has been lots of media coverage on Swift's injury, Holyfield's durability/production/size, and Zeus's recovery.

For a guy who can add an Alvin Kamara element to our offense this year, the media and boards are quiet on Cook.

Keith Marshall was pretty dang solid before he got hurt.

The 5-11.5, 182 lbs was a slight concern for me but maybe they got him going on some kind of special program after he signed... Needs to show up about 200 and ripped. Maybe he'll eventually bulk up to about 210-215 like Dalvin.

Marshall wasn't overrated. He was a beast before he tore his ACL. Gurley was just a monster

5-11.5 and 185 would be plenty big enough if he has vision, instinct, speed, agility, and durability. A great compliment to White and Swift.

I think a ranking of around 100-150 would have been more accurate. That is still highly ranked.

I bet he reaches 210 at least. He might already be well on his way.

I can understand what he is saying, though. I mean, when you have Swift, Herrien, Holyfiled and the #1 RB in the class (White) on campus, you wouldn't think Cook would have much of a chance. I am wondering if Holyfield takes on Chubb's role, Swift takes on Michel's role and Cook takes on Swift's role...then bring White along slowly, giving him plenty of time to recover.

It'll be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

I have been rewatching some of last seasons games, and was surprised at how tough Herrien ran at times. I didn't remember that, and if he continues to run tough could possibly carve out more playing time.
