SEC Championship, Rose Bowl win against a Heisman Trophy winner and CFP final game (and damn should’ve won). Top recruiting class followed by #1 Class ever in UGA history.

Can we say now that the handwringing about changing coaches and walking through years of pergatory wishing again for the good old days of 9.4 wins per season is over?

Too soon?

Imagine if we got rid of Richt earlier and we didn't land Smart.......

God has a plan and he is a UGA fan. (that rhymes and be sure to quote me if you ever use this phrase)

All things considered, Smart should have been Coach of the Year. In my mind and in the hearts of most Georgia fans, he absolutely was and is Coach of the Year. I can only imagine the energy and coordination it took to prepare for the playoffs and then immediately do all the work that was necessary to reel in the #1 recruiting class in the nation and the best recruiting class in UGA history. /salute

Imagine if we decided to wait and Smart got hired by the Gamecocks, which I truly believe they had a deal in the works

One of my best friends was like this. He doubled down, tripled down, on Kirby being a horrible decision. Once Eason actually enrolled, instead of calming down, he doubled down again about what a disaster this was going to be.

All through the 2016 season and the Nicholl's State debacle, the Vandy debacle, et al, he non-stop talked shite and puffed his chest about how right he was about Kirby.

I haven't heard shite from him this year, except the occassional Go Dawgs on his facebook page.

I'm not sure why some people get so damn emotionally invested in things like coaching changes or a single recruit, to the point of talking shite for months and months,. It was like he was helpless to an unknown power taking hold of him in his hatred of the Richt firing and Kirby hiring.

I wasnt anti-Kirby I just really liked CMR. I knew we were not where we should be but at the same time I also understood our program wasnt supporting him financially. "McCheapity" as some called him wasnt delivering. Yeah I know Richt wasnt yelling and screaming but hell he was our guy. When Smart arrived it wasnt hard to support him too. It wasnt a one or the other for me fwiw. ....and yeah those pizz poor golden flake cheese puffs..

Richt was on record saying he didn’t care about an IPF, so McCheapity didn’t build one. When Pruitt came in and made a stink, it went into production.

IPF’s and spending and backoffice shite had nothing to do with Richt getting fired.

Going ten years without an SEC Championship is what got him fired.

Ten years. Time to go.

This and only won the weak East twice during that period. CMR is a good coach and a better person but his teams had too many bad losses when the team simply did not seem prepared for those games. Mark was great at recruiting skill players but not so much in recruiting in the trenches. And his overall roster management aka maintaining a full roster was not good.

Funny you put it that way. I’ve always said there are two types of liberals. The Star Trek liberal who believes the whole world should be like Star Trek...no money, everyone loves each other, no war, everyone’s happy, etc. Their heart is in the right place but they are ignorant and naive.

Then there’s the Evil Overlord liberal. Their goal is to make themselves rich and powerful while using liberal ideals to control everyone else and tell them what to do. They want us all in urban self sustaining multiplexes riding the bus while they jet to Davos and bathe in virgin goat milk.
