If we can stay healthy at defensive line and develop a solid inside backer we should be elite next year. Our D-Backs are fine and our offense is fine.

LeCounte needs to be replaced. He just doesn’t have it - he only likes kill shots and isn’t a form tackler. In space, LeCounte consistently misses the tackle. Dawgs simply cannot afford for him to be the last line of defense.

Overall roster talent next year (IMO)
1. Bama
2. UGA
3. Clemson

Bama and Clemson got hit hard with departures. Bama got hit unusually hard.

Bama loses
Seniors:
Lester Cotton
Ross Pierschbacker
Hale Hentges
Damien Harris
Isaiah Buggs
Christian Miller
Early departures:
Josh Jacobs
Irv Smith
Savion Smith
Deionte Thompson
Quinnen Williams
Mack Wilson
Richie Petitbon

Clemson loses(Just gonna post defense, Offense is going to still be sick)
Seniors:
Christian Wilkins
Albert Huggins
Austin Bryant
Kendall Joseph
Early departures:
Clelin Ferrell
Tre Lamar
Dexter Lawrence
Trayvon Mullen

Bama has had a lot of transfers the past couple of years. They have top recruits to fill some spots, but those loses. They haven't taken a hit in talent like this.

Clemson's recruiting class hasn't been mind blowing. Past 5 classes has been 7, 16, 11, 9 and currently 6. Those early departures are going to sting.

Ohio St. is the team to keep an eye on especially if Fields is granted a waver.

1. Georgia/ Ohio State
2. Bama
3. LSU(Emery puts LSU over Clemson)
4. Clemson

The guy wiffed on 2 tackles all year and now he needs to be replaced. I want to see Otis on the field also but Lecounte is a good cover guy. He just needs to work on wrapping up and taking one for the team.

Yeah. Bacarri Rambo wasn't very popular as an underclassman.
Shawn Williams was a footnote as an underclassman.

These kids improve. Game experience and an ensuing offseason goes a long way to development and consistency.

I’d say we’re on par talent wise with anyone in the country. But when’s the last time anyone won a NC while replacing both coordinators? Might take another season before we’re a serious contender, but time will tell.

The hope is that we have a continuation of the current offense with a little less predictability.

And it is kirby's defense.

I could be completely wrong. But we aren't changing schemes. We aren't changing verbiage. The names on the desks are the biggest change. If we survive the few areas with shallow depth, we should be a force by seasons end.
