UGA, ClemPson, or Alabama? Is 2019 our year to finally break through? I’ve noticed a lot of Alabama fans tell each other: “UGA is losing a TON of talent too, we’ll be ok.”

I’m not so sure I agree with that statement. I know our defense in all positions will be better than Alabama’s next year. Say what you want, but ClemPson ain’t replacing that D-Line including 3 from their 2’s. They still have Thomas and Henry but the rest of their defense is meh? IDK... is ClemPson the favorite to repeat, or do we finally break through?

Until we return consistent production, I won’t feel great. We have all the talent in the world, but that needs to be experienced talent for us to live up to the hype. And I haven’t seen that to a level I feel comfortable with.

I honestly feel we were overrated in 17 & 18. The fact we happened to be better than pretty much everyone else was nice. But we need to start having extremely experienced depth that I just haven’t seen.

???

Our OL returning isn't "consistent production"?Fromm? Swift?

So you'll be "comfortable" with what? Returning 4 and 5
stars as every position? Not asking for much
our we?

WTF?As finished 2nd in country in '17 and Bama needed an OT miracle to beat us.

What exactly are your expectations?Sure,we "should" make the playoffs next year but anything after that is a crapshoot.

Fact is with the talent we're bringing you're gonna lose juniors and have transfers.

You never return a team full of consistent production in college football. That isn’t realistic with as much roster turnover as every team experiences every year.

Our WRs are inexperienced
Our RB situation should be good but we really have no clue how that dynamic will work. Do we have a bruiser who will run defenses to depth? Maybe, i dont know. If we can’t do that, what happens to our run identity. I would say our run identity is not set
QB depth is extremely light. 1 junior and two freshmen.
Our oline will be good
Our defensive line should be better with more depth.
Our OLBs should be fine.
Our ILBs are a work in progress to say the least. We have an influx of talent, but current returning production was average at best.
And frankly, and I doubt anyone will agree with me, I’m worried with our secondary. We lose our best player on the team. I’ve not been impressed with LeCounte. He’s forgotten how to tackle. And I’m not impressed with Tyson Campbell just in general. I’m confident that JR reed has room to improve. And Stokes will get some new responsibility. I’m sure he will ha doe it fine, but it’s new

WRs - The only inexperienced WR is Blaylock, 5* Freshman who dominated at the HS level and in the ALL American game. We're set at WR.
RBs - Swift(Elite), Cook(put on 5-10 pounds will be dynamic), Herrien is a punisher. Zeus may be a year away.
QB depth - Going into 2019 what team don't have this problem.
Oline - Elite, best in the country
Dline - Senor Dline will be very good
OLBs - Elite
ILBs - Rice, Walker, Tindall, Dean (don't know what else to tell ya)
Secondary - Made a statement against Bama

2019 is THE year

Don't see what? And who in the SECE returns more "proven talent" and experience?

I'd say we're easily top 3 in the country in both categories in '19.

I ain’t worried about the SECE. We could be top 3. But I do feel like people see stars and recruiting more than on field product.

Stars does a hell of a lot for the Bama’s, Ohio St’s and Clemson’s.

Yes, excellent idea to overlook the entire division

BTW,who out there recruiting on the highest levels is returning "extremely experienced" players?

It's virtually impossible to do in every position group
with 4 and 5 stars leaving early and transfering.

BTW how exactly were we overrated in '18?No idea what you meant by that comment.

Just this season, people were already looking forward to the 2019 team. And now people are backing off that sentiment?

So my thoughts? The last two seasons, we've had every opportunity to win a championship with our players, as is. Nothing should change about that for the forseeable future when we continue bringing in top 5 classes.

In 2017, everyone here said 2019 would he the year. All of a sudden, we lose too much and now 2020 or 2021 will be the year. If it's not possible next season, it's probably not possible. From a talent standpoint, this will be the best Georgia has had. Probably ever.

Overall roster talent next year (IMO)
1. Bama
2. UGA
3. Clemson

UGA has the best talent in the country this year. We have weaknesses that must be addressed, but if we can see some development in the def battlefield this is a team with no holes.

Leconte needs to add weight - 10-15 lbs. He's the leading tackler on the team for a reason. He gets to the ball, but he bounces off bigger, stronger runners.

Campbell is more of a safety than a CB, and I think he'll move in 2020. He has shown cover skills, though.
