Just walked to get coffee for the wife in this cement abyss while she slept. Even in this city, which feels like cemetery, i can feel the lords presence

I took this picture of one of my sheds the other day. Devoured by ivy. Life consumes us all

We took the pontoon boat out on the lake and went to a sunrise service at one of the docks. Thermos of coffee and blankets on this cold morning, but the sun warmed us up. It was beautiful.

Was a beautiful day today. After breakfast with the family. I took the Harley out and rode for about 3 hours. Was a wonderful day to be on the bike. Came back and worked the Green Egg for the family. Was just a blessed day..

We went to service on Friday. As anyone can attest who attends Athens Church or any Northpoint satellites on Easter and Christmas it is impossible to get in. So they asked "the regulars" to attend on Friday.
So had all day

Thermos

Do people actually still have these? I remember my grandad had one in his lunch pail. Think Yeti bro.

Have the Athenians accepted you yet or do they still treat you as if you had the Bubonic Plague? Another inquisitive Dawgranter wants an update.

On a serious note Happy Easter to you all.

I've had that Thermos for 30 years. It's a big one. Holds a 12 cup coffee pot of coffee and keeps it hot for hours. I have a couple of Yeti mugs but they hold about half a pot of coffee between them. We were on the water from 6 am until we docked at a restaurant at noon for dinner.

I am still hoping and praying. I will keep grinding... Keep chopping as they say.. ;-)

One day, I hope for official approval from Internet Message board tough guy "Rhodedawg"

Which I sensed in you, this need for approval.

And which is why my thread was entitled:
quote:

I'm a sell-out please accept me.

You don't need to change your stripes (or what jerseys you wear to which game) just because you moved to Athens.

If you drive a F-150, or a Harley Davidson, if you go to church every Sunday, if you invite strangers to your tailgate you might be "accepted." If you tell others these things on an anonymous message board you might be accepted.

But why?

My original thread about you was "What is a LSU Hobnail Boot."

This is a dichotomy. You can't be both. The desire to be is an attempt to be accepted by two different fanbases/people. You're trying to straddle a line, or sit on a fence.

Don't mind me, I'm just a Dawg. If I live in Georgia or Rhode Island or Massachusetts or Louisiana I'll still be a Dawg.

That's just me.

Rhodedawg,
I wasn’t going to respond to your extremely odd triggered posts but I cannot help myself.

The fact you catalog pretty much everything I post is extremely bizarre. But I digress.

Let me set something straight. I don’t need to be accepted, I have friends in and all around Athens. I post here because 99% of the people here are friendly, and I have something in common with them and frankly most of the people on the SEC rant and Tigerdroppings are more insane than you are. So this board seems to have some sanity.

You mistake being friendly and not an a-hole as “trying to be accepted”.

I also don’t tie my life existence to a game. I am not trying to be both. I have never wavered from being an LSU Tiger. Since you seem to catalog everything I post. You must recall the many pictures of myself and my daughter in LSU gear at various UGA games. Do I go to UGA sporting events and cheer for Georgia when they don’t play LSU? Of course I do. Why would I not I live here. Almost every friend I have in the area are UGA grads/fans.

In Baton Rouge last season, 50% of our tailgate party were UGA fans and everyone had a great time. Almost all of them were from the Athens area/friends and we pick up some walking by. Before and after the game. I have yet to meet until you a UGA fan that hasn’t been friendly to me and my family.

What happens if my daughter goes to UGA? I have to rescind my alma mater and place of birth if I want her school to do well and be friendly to my neighbors?

When LSU played UGA in Baseball. I was invited on this board to attend a tailgate of a fellow member of this board. A UGA tailgate. Was he looking for acceptance from me? No he was being friendly, meet like people. Talk about baseball or football or whatever.

In addition you may recall last football season after the LSU vs UGA game. I didn’t post a thing for awhile. Why because I am the guest here and I have no reason to be a jackhole. Plus its just a game. I don’t play on the team.

As for name. Even before I moved here I always thought the “Hob nail boot” call by Munson was one of the single greatest calls ever in sports. It is an homage to that since I do live here and I am an LSU fan. Not that hard…

I guess in closing. You may always be a dawg, but you live in Rhode Island. Are you a jackass to everyone in Rhode Island because “you are a dawg”?
I have to guess sure you assimilated a little to where you live, eat quahogs, visit Beavertail Point in Jamestown, eat lobster rolls and talk about how the Red Sox loss was a “wicked pissa”.

Yes I am an LSU Tiger, and I live in Athens (well Watkinsville). I love living here and many of the friends I have met. My family is thriving here.

I hope one day to have several of the people on this board who are interested, join our tailgate of many other UGA fans (And some fans of Clemson and Tennessee who tailgate with us every home game) to a shrimp boil and have some fun. Share my culture with my neighbors. Meet new people.

What is really Ironic about all of this is I have family in Coventry and Jamestown RI. I have been to R.I. Many times. Outside of your politics and winters, it’s a great state.

I guess lastly, I really don’t give two shits about your opinion of me, your confusion of my name or your really bizarre obsession with my posts. Seems you are on the minority on this board…

Frankly, I am disgusted I even spent this much time typing this.

As well you should be... It was not worthy of your time or energy...

As I've said before... I'd take ten of you on the board over one of this dipshit... Keep on keeping on man.

Unrelated... I always assumed the boot was also an homage to the shape of Louisiana... Guess I was wrong.
