At least we can put that narrative to bed, eh? In the Richt era, it felt like whenever we had a big game, not only would we lose, but we would crumble and get blown out. SECCG and Rose Bowl fixed that up, not to mention going to OT with Bama in the NCCG. The only shadow of Richt-era Georgia was the first Auburn game, and it seemed to be corrected pretty quickly.

If only we had stuck with some more creative runs in the 2nd half...game should've never even gone to OT.

I agree. While the national championship game ending sucked, we didn't have a full-on meltdown that led to it. We had some big things go against us and Bama had the stars align with their true freshman blowing up rather than falling apart. He was the difference maker there, even with our lackluster offensive playcalling in the 2nd half. It definitely felt different to me.

We lost primarily because they are uber, indesribably talented at every position and are stacked 3 deep after years and years of top ranked classes. We aren't there yet but nobody else is either, at least we're closing the gap. It makes a nice storybook ending that all their offensive playmakers in the second half were freshmen, but that's simply the luxury bama has that nobody else does.

If Kirby keeps recruiting like he has been we're gonna get to a similar point and soon.

Auburn beat them when their entire defense was in the hospital.

In the span of 8 days, we beat the #1 Offense at their own game, and took the #1 Defense to OT. Not a lot to moan about, other than the last play of the game.

In a lot of championship games, at the end it always feel's like the losing team maybe wasn't the 2nd best team in the county. This time was different. Both teams were good enough to win that night. Sucks for you guys to be on the losing end of that, but from a 3rd party, what a show that was. And unfortunately, UGA is back, for a long time.

We played well enough to win against a team with much more talent, especially at the LOS and secondary.

I'm very happy with the direction and the performance of this team.

And that was with Bama benefiting from virtually every call and certifiably benefiting from every non-call. Against literally anyone else in the country, we overcome any potential talent gap and hold on for the win.

Let's not get it twisted - we held ALABAMA scoreless for the first half. I'm not wandering into moral victory territory by any stretch, but think about that. There's still a talent gap, even from their freshmen to our upperclassmen in places on the field, but they have the benefit of 5 more years of Kirby recruiting at #1 than we do.

For now.

Yes, Auburn did beat them. But Alabama didn't use Tua in that game. UGA held Alabama to it's lowest yards in the first half since 2008 in this game. Alabama was a different team with a Tua back there.

I wish that made me feel better. In the words of C3PO....."We are made to suffer. It's our lot in life." Sometime it seems that we being a UGA fan. We blew this game. Absolutely should have won it in regulation, and should have won it in overtime.

Got to give credit to Saban and Bama, though. It's not like we man-handled them the entire game and gave it away at the end. We had our way for the first half and their adjustments were better than ours in the 2nd half. We had a blown coverage to end the game, but their QB was epic; they earned it.

We won that damn game without the bad calls and no calls. That was pure trash from the b1G officials. I’m not claiming a moral victory here at all. Our guys out played and out physicaled them through much of that game. Did our offensive play calling suck in the 4th quarter? Yeah. But the punt block cost us points and face mask totally fricked us and gave them the ball back. Cheapest championship of the saban era. He knows it, I know it, you know it, everyone knows it. We got robbed plain and simple.

We are going to be just fine, in my opinion. Great days ahead!
