Georgia football practice report: Bulldogs’ airing it out in drills

D’Andre Swift was back taking handoffs at the start of Monday’s practice, and receiver Terry Godwin was running routes and catching passes.

“As far as what our game plan will be, I don’t think I should divulge that,” Smart said. “Are we going to stick to our plan to be balanced? Absolutely. Are we going to go out and try to throw it every down? They don’t throw it every down. They score a lot of points, but they do it in different methods.

“So we’re going to do and prepare to be able to score points the best way possible and stop them from scoring points is the objective.”

Georgia’s injury situation continues to be monitored closely.

Coach Kirby Smart said earlier Monday that the running backs were “100 percent"

Godwin, coming off a calf strain and shin contusion, still had a wrap on his lower left leg.

Bulldogs left tackle Andrew Thomas, who suffered a sprained ankle the first play of the second half at South Carolina, was not seen on the practice field.

Smart had said he didn’t expect Thomas to practice on Monday, though, he added, Thomas has been gaining back his mobility.
