Georgia asking fans to wear pink Saturday in honor of Ark St HC's late wife Wendy Anderson
LINK

For people not up to date on Blake Anderson and his wife's battle with cancer

quote:

Arkansas State coach Blake Anderson announced early Tuesday morning that his wife of 27 years, Wendy Anderson, died after a fight with breast cancer. "My beautiful girl has gone home to be with Jesus," he wrote on Twitter. "No more pain, no more suffering, and praise Him no more cancer. She passed away as peacefully and gracefully as you could ever hope just a few minutes before midnight with me laying right beside her. I have been so blessed to have her by my side each day for the past 27 years." Arkansas State announced Monday that in the wake of Anderson's difficult time, he intends to take an indefinite leave of absence. Wendy Anderson was diagnosed with triple-negative stage four breast cancer in 2017, and had gone through multiple treatments to address the disease. The family announced in March that the cancer had spread to her liver, lungs and lymph nodes. Anderson addressed his wife's health at Sun Belt Media Days in July.

It’d be nice but we can’t even get our fans to wear red to our other games

Truth.

Unless it's a designated Blackout, every Dawg fan should always wear red when they're BTH. It shouldn't even be up for debate.

This weekend is an obvious exception.

I’m also ok with black to night games at night.

Very cool, but I wish there was a different way to show support. October is always full of pink in football due to the abortion mill-supporting Susan G Komen foundation.

As divisive as that foundation I hope the fans pick this up although I have my doubts. Worse that happens is it’s a nice gesture from the the fan base and selfishly gets us good PR.

...or white, or black, because they’re also team colors and it’s a free country where you can wear whatever the frick you want.

I didn't have a pink shirt, so I just went to the store and got one for only $20. It will be worth it to show support with the rest of the UGA fans!

When did white become a team color? I’ve never heard that.

The offical colors are red and black.

lots of SEC schools have a third color that was dropped or fell into disuse over time.

Should have just bought a red shirt and a white one and washed them together.

Yes. Georgia was red, black, and gold. They dropped off gold when GT started using it.

That is where I was headed but did not want to bring up the Bumbles

On a side note, I think yellow was an early color for UK but was dropped for black, then forgotten...

At least until Nike figured bringing black back was a good way to sell more merchandise with 3 colors than just two.
