A lot of conversation has been had about how poorly Fromm did vs. UTk and how Fields needs to be the man going forward. I just finished my weekly compilation of all of Fromm's offensive plays (passes, runs, and sacks) to help further the discussion.

After review, I thought he actually played really well. There was poor execution by our blockers that led to a lot of pressure and the receivers didn't seem to execute well on several of those incompletions.

I think the criticism of Fromm was overblown because Fields was in the game and able to pick up some yards with his legs and extend drives, but we have a lot of work to do on the OL to protect our QBs. We shouldn't have to release the ball in 1.5 seconds or scramble every play to be effective moving the ball down the field.

Crap blocking and dropped passes hurt him. Losing Jevon Wimms hurt too.

Our wrs not only caught everything thrown to them last year, they caught everything thrown around them.

This is the material point, IMO. Our WRs are good and shouldn't need to be hit between the numbers on every pass for them to catch the ball.

Your objectivity has no place here.

Some passes are being dropped, some are too long. Overall, he is passing very well, but he is gonna have to be on his A game at lsu.

But, Foo, what about all the dweebs saying all he does is check down?

in the video I saw him completing several routes down the field..nd many of the short throws were designed that way..im confused

Looked much better when you single him out like this. The good things he does kinda get drownded out in the emotion of the moment during the game

Kid is very good at what he does, looking at his performance in a vacuum makes you realize he erred on maybe 5-7 snaps outta 30+. Most teams would be estatic if their QB had a game where their QB did 75% of what JF accomplished on Saturday...

Fromm is an amazing QB but the more opportunities we give our team to earn positive yardage, the better.

Instead of having a QB - where if one block is missed - gets us a sack, we have a kid who can give us a chance to escape and earn positive yardage. That's why dual threat guys in college are so crucial, it allows you to still get something when things go bust.

If one block goes bad then Fromm is toast.

I think this season is Fromm's but we know what we need to do moving forward. We will be a legit contender with Fields being the man I think.

At least two of Fromm's long passes against the Vols failed to connect because of the receiver. The big concern about Fromm was the uncharacteristic fumbles.

We are missing part of the story because we don't see the practices. Everyone has to admit that Fields has the best physical tools but Fromm has been clutch in crucial games.

I believe that either guy could play the entire game against LSU and dominate. It would surprise me if Fields starts before 2019. I trust Kirby to make the best decision. Fields has one advantage--everyone is expecting him to run.

If one of the two gets a hot hand, I hope that Kirby stays with what's working as long as it's working.

Looked to me like Fromm didn’t step into the pocket and the ends were blocked right to him.

Sometimes that’s called an overthrow.

The offense moved better with Fields. That may be because the OL struggled, but if that continues than you have to go with what works regardless of whether it’s Fromm’s fault or not.

I’m all in on Fields but Fromm wasn’t alone on a subpar performance. A shitty offensive line, dropped screen by Swift, “drop” by Godwin and 2 bad long balls to Holloman/Ridley pretty much sums up the bad.

The good, UGA won by 26 in an otherwise underwhelming performance on offense. UGA is obviously struggling to find any rhythm. We’re winning on talent not execution.

I was on the far end of the field from the Ridley throw, but the throw to Holloman had entirely too much air under it. Holloman could have made a better play on the ball, but he was going to be in an unnecessarily vulnerable position.

that was one drive out of however many we had..small sample...the last drive when Fields was in the offense moved the ball just as well when Fromm came in.

He was so effective because the defense wasnt prepared for that. Which is great for us, but with more tape it will become less effective....until he starts to throw out of it which im sure we will do @LSU.

Im all for having Fields come in and have a series or plug him in when we need short yardage. Like I have said, he is a great weapon to have on our side. I hope we continue to use him effectively and i hope he helps us win games.

But Jake Fromm should be our QB.

I disagree if the offense continues to stall when he's in the game.

I think it was the Ridley throw where the ball was thrown over the right shoulder but Ridley turned to his left and couldn't recover. A receiver had gator arms on another long throw. Both passes could have been completions, imo.
