AJC is reporting the UGA is going after people who are profiting from the sale of Free Gurley merchandise. UGA says they own the rights to Gurley's name so cough up the dough.
Someone needs to begin producing Free 3 merchandise. I don't think UGA owns the number 3.
frick the NCAA and its agent UGA.

Wonder if Todd purchased the one he was wearing the other day, or if it was given to him?

Happens all the time. Businesses pay lots of money for the rights to produce that, no way would they allow for someone to skip that process.

Didn't see in that letter where it was against the law, only against the NCAA. As long as he didn't infringe on UGA's trademarks, they got nothing. Of course I could be wrong because our country always fricks the little guy over in favor of the bigger entity.

Now I'll know what the letter will look like if/when I get one.

I don't think hardly anyone seems to understand UGA's role in this........
As the ajc articles says....People making these shirts, etc are doing "more harm than good."
They're selling a shirt to spread a message that they want Gurley freed, but by doing so, they'are actually putting the team in further jeopardy.
UGA is simply complying with NCAA rules. If they didn't didn't follow up on all of the shirt peddlers and send these letters, then.......it could be more problems for UGA compliance and we could get more penalties, etc.
There's levels of irony within irony within irony on this subject that are mind-boggling....

LSU did the same thing with the #7 Honey Badger shirts that folks were wearing to the games.

We need a happy medium somewhere between FSU defiance and UGA compliance.

Actually, it says that they're acting on the behalf of Gurley to eliminate profiting off of a name that he himself, by rule, cannot profit off. If anything, they're actually doing the honorable thing here.
